OK. i need your help to make my final choices before placing my order for new skis! I am 5'8 and 145 lbs. I ski 80% all mountain 20% park.

I've pretty much decided to get the new pe's. But i really dont know which bindings to get, or WHERE to mount them. My local store only carrys salomon bindings and they dont know crap about this stuff when i tried to ask em.

Right now i've been looking at the rossi scratch 140 ti and the look px12 ti with lifters.

The folks at backcountry told me i should get the look px12, but i wasnt sure about the lifters or how that would effect my style of skking. They also said to mount them at +2, would u guys agree?

SO...in short

1. Which binding (opn to others too)?

2. Lifters ok?

3. where should i mount them?

I've got LOOK P10's for sale. $100. Bought for $150. Pics if you PM me. Good condition.

I call my power 100's p10s because everyone knows what p10's are. Otherwise they might think I'm riding on some recreational binding.

well would lifters make that much off i deff? bc if i dont have to go through all the trouble then i dont really want to...

are you guys morons. get looks WITHOUT the lifters? come on, the lifters add leverage hense giving you much better carving. if he skis mostly NOT park, isn't that what he wants? come on, don't talk out of your ass here.

ya lifters dont really server much of a purpose though, and besides if you decide to go without lifters you can just get new screws from the shop...you dont have to grind your old ones down.

dont grind the screws down, thats just stupid and asking for trouble. Where do you guys get these ideas?

Oh and as for bindings, I would try and get some P12's from last year. I really liked the pivot.

i re-read the begining and it said that you are pretty much decided on getting the pe's, but haven't yet. if you get the 179 i would recommend a +4 mount, and if you choose the 174 i would recommend a +3 mount.

The pivot was a feature on last years look's, and axial's. It allowed youyr heel to travel side to side instead of locked in place. Very nice feature. This years axial might still be that way I'm not sure, but I know the looks are not. And I agree with the mounting posistions he listed^.

I know lifters give you more leverage and what not so they are important to have on an all mountain ski....but what is the point in not having them on a park ski? Does it make sliding rails easier becuase you get more feedback or something? I am going to Axial2 140 ti's on my msp's with a lifter...why should I not put some axial2 120 ti's on my chronics with lifters? Or should I just have the ski shop get some shorter screws and mount them with out the lifters on the chronics? (I want the ti's and I think they all come with lifters)

thanks

I guess the scratch 140s are Ti's, maybe I should just get two pairs of these...except they are all WB and I don't need wide brakes for on my Chronics

I got it...I will get the Axial2 120 Ti's with normal brakes...comes with lifters...and the Scratch 140 Ti's with wide brakes....then I can put the Lifters under the 140's for on my MSP's and use the screws from the 120's then put the 120's without the lifter on the chronics with the screws from the 140's.....will all these parts be compatible???

Thanks

well i was actually gonna get the 169 pe's so what would you say i should mount it at then? The place im buying my skis at says i should mount them 7 back of the core...what do you guys think about that?

i would say don't get the 169's and don't mount 7 back from the core!

get the 174's and mount +3 from the midsole mark (or 4.5 back from core).

Here is another question...for those who know stuff about Rossi/Look Bindings...the bindings that come with the t-plates instead of just the risers (04-05 Axial T-Plate S)...can these just be mounted without the T-Plate? Just like a jib bindings...I found a sweet deal on the 14 din version....thanks...also can you buy just the regular risers for on an all-mountain ski?...lastly...what the hell is the purpose of the t-plates that makes them different than a plain riser???

thanks a mill
