Hi guys I’m a pretty new skier and I want to put the Pivot 18s on my Soul 7s but I don’t really know that much about this stuff. please help me out

Eh, pivot 18 would be overkill but you could still run em

I’d recommend sth2 13, or attack 13. Cheaper and more for your weight and ability.

Do you know your DIN setting? If you don't, there are online calculators you can use to get a rough idea. Unless you're gonna be running a DIN of ~11 or higher, the Pivot 18 is way overkill and you'll be fine with the 12s or 14s. I would also recommend the Attack 13s, STH 13s, or Griffons as other options in the same DIN range.

His calculated DIN is like 8, 9 maybe. Pivot 18s would be overkill.

Attack or STH 13 or 16 (though not necessary and add weight to a light ski) Pivot 12 or 14. Those are really the bindings that get recommended here time and time again, some have strong feelings toward one or another but most agree they're all good bindings.

Probably shouldn't have gotten soul7s then

I didn't want to say it.

Marker griffon's are always a safe bet and you can probably find em for cheap

Griffins have a reputation for blowing up around here and therefore are not recommended generally.

Hmmm I think I might just go with some marker squires if the pivot 18s would be too much for me

If you go for the squires make sure you order 3 pairs of extra breaks. Trust me, you’ll need em

Dude, no need to go from one end of the spectrum to the other. Any of the bindings others have recommended will be better choices. That being said, I ran your DIN through the chart as a Type 3, 305mm bootsole, and you come out as a 6.5. So at the end of the day you could really run whatever binding you want.

Um apart from the likes of the P18 and STH16 which all start at 8.....

Pivot 12s/14s or attack 13s would be my recommendation.

What about knee bindings?

I don’t think many people here have ridden them. Unless you have a history of knee issues I would look at sth13s or pivot 12/14s.

Thanks for all the help but this is very confusing so I think I’m just going to sell my soul 7 and pick up snowboarding. Thanks again for the answers though
