I just got my new 2012 kung fujas, but they are flat. i need some help figuring out what i could use on them.

-i am 5' 7", 135, and level 3+

i was thinking griffons or jesters since that is what k2 recommends, but i want to hear some more options.

because of your weight, you really dont need a 16 din binding, so rule jesters out. I have had great expierence with my griffons. I also have Look pivot's which are awesome. Also check out some Salomon STH 12 or 14 driver. Great binding for a low price.

every binding thread will pretty much have the same response but given your weight, you can narrow it down to 12 or 14 din choices, you dont need or want anything higher.

Pivot/FKS 14

PX 12 or 14

STH 12 or 14 (with driver toe)

Griffons

How old are you bud? while what these guys are saying may be true, you would be fine in a 12/14 din binding right now, but you may be due for a growth spurt. Im sure you are going to want to keep this set up for at least a season or two. In my opinion, i would get a 16 din binding. bindings work best in the middle of there spring rate, you shouldnt crank a binding all the way to the max as you shouldnt have it within 1 or 2 ticks of its minimal setting. a binding with a max din of 14 really shouldnt be set past 12. if you were to get a 16 din biniding, you would be right in the middle of its din threshold causing less stress to the springs allowing a longer more reliable life and release pattern.

this all depends on one major point though, how old are you?

im 16, and im pretty much growing steady with not many growth spurts. supposed to be about five ten or five eleven though. and yes, im hoping to keep this setup for a while. i wouldnt put the bindings on more than a nine, and thats on a powder day where i dont want to lose any stuff. on a usual okay washington day they would be on about a 6 or seven.

get the griffons. I have them mounted on my kung fujas from last year and they are sooo nice. The griffon also look the best with the kung fujas; the ski would just look weird with a salomon or look pivot binding I think. Oh and i got mine mounted at -3cm, but I would defiantly want to have them more at the center now, so center mount or -1cm

You should look into the fischer x14 binding, i work in in a shop so i got proform and got a pair of addicts when they came out and it was a ridiculous deal to get the binding with it. such a good binding, the release was smoothe and reliable and held you in tight. I upgraded to a pair of x17s after because i broke the 14's however i break everything.. rossi scratch pivot 12s and 14s, p12s and i just broke my p18s this past season :( i rode 189 bents with 16.5 din
