Bindings after acl tear

Been off the skis nearly 20 months now after tearing my acl and absolutely shredding my medial meniscus. I'm gonna try and get back on skis in the next 2 months but my knee's still in a bad way and I want to play it as safe as possible. I was thinking of getting some pivots but are they really worth the extra weight/money in terms of knee safety? I realise knee bindings would be best for this purpose but no one else really seems to use them and not very easy to get here.

If they really do make a difference I'll go for it, but if not I've got a pair of griffon 13's I can just slap on.

My wife has had two ACL surgeries, both complete tears, so I've looked into this a lot.

I'd put the griffon 13s on her skis if I already had them. I decided that there is no way for me to know if the knee bindings are safer and they might very well be worse. The knee binding guy also seems kinda like a wack job on the different ski forums too so even if his product is great that doesn't do anything to instill confidence.

All the current alpine bindings from Marker, Tyrolia, Solomon, and Look all meet the same safety standards.
 
I remember seeing someone with Pivot looking bindings but they looked a lil different. And it said on them “knee savers” or something along the lines of that. They’re werent your normal binding.
