just curious... what do y'all have your bindings set at. I just got some new ones and i was wondering bout how tight i should set them.

it depends on how much you weigh and how big you go. If you have them them too tight you can get in some pretty messy accidents. Mine are set at 9.

there was already a post about this a little while ago, but don't go by what others have theirs set at. Just ski, and if it pops off to much crank it up a notch, but don't just crank it up to start with, cause you'l blow your knees.

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What ya doin?

diggen.

Why?

make a hole.

What for?

more diggen.

i'm like 130 lbs and i dunno how big i go but i go big enough to do like, 7 grabs and backflips and shiz. what should mine be at? becuase they are at 6. I'm 5'6 too. and they were poppin off a lot yesterday landing 540's... so what should mine be set at?

higher than 6 for sure. crank it to 7 to see how it works, and if you need, 8. But I wouldn't go any higher than 8

mine were at 4. They fell off all the time. I upped them to 6

I have mine at max, however the binding doesn't realease and it usually breaks or like last time the binding ripped out and delammed my ski oh well.

i got weak acls, so i go for 10, but i weigh 184, and am that tall

sarcasm is a wonderful thing

i weigh 125 and have mine set at 6...the ski shop set em at 4 but i cranked em up cuz they fall off like noithin if they are that low

i have mine set at the lowest possible setting because i kind of like it when my skis fall off while im in the air for no reason because its a pleasant suprise and it gives me an extra incentive to go big or go home and keep hucking.

I just got my skis mounted, shop set them at 7, I turned them up to 8 to start the season, prolly up to 9 or 10 in a few weeks. I'm 5' 11', 160 lbs.

You can set them depending on what kind of day it is. I would mess with them to mcuh though. I'm about 175lbs and set the din to about 7 in the park. If I'm hitting backcountry hits I'll up them to 9, unless the pow is heavy then I keep em at 7. Marker bindings usually need to be set at a higher din than other bindings I've found out.

As a person who works at a shop and is a certified tech for rossi, look, tyrolia, marker, salomon, and atomic.

You guys are scary.

Take your skis to a shop and they have a chart and depending on your height, weight, age, boot sole length, and skier type u should be able to determine exactly what you din should be set at.

We have to follow these exactly or else we personally can get sued if we do not go by the chart and someone gets injured.

For all you ns skiers i would go with a look or rossi binding with a turntable heel and if u want your binding set higher than the chart so you wont release know there is a skier type which is know as 3+ and if you go by that if that is what you think you are u should not release during tricks but release when needed.

I am not telling anyone what skier type you are but i use a skier type 3+ setting and have never pre released or not released when i needed.

Dont try to just gues cus u can seriously get hurt.

When the shop mounts your binding they should set the din for you and if u decide to adjust it yourself after what they set it at you are responsinble for whatever happens to you.

Please at least try going by the chart first.

the chart is bullshit, they measure it on your wieght not your skiing ability, how agressive you ski should also be put on the chart

thank you mmm4twintips....i too work in a shop, and for those of you that think that the higher your bindings go the better you'll ski, you're full of it. powder99, in response to your post, that chart DOES in fact factor in your skiing ability, becuase skiing type is used in determining skier code, which is used in determining the DIN setting, which relies upon your boot size in mm. granted, the skis may come off if you ski really hard on them, but its for your own good...if you want to crank them up as high as they'll go, go ahead, but you'd better know how to take a fall, and if you get hurt, don't head to the ski shop getting ready to sue them, becuase once you touch the bindings all the shop's liability disappears. as well, rossignol bindings arent the best choice for park riding. granted, they're light, but the release on them is shitty...go with Salomon or Marker bindings, that's where it's at. Salomon's toepieces are awesome, they're so nice for controlling wierd landings (not switch)and Marker bindings are super good for all mountain, especially the Piston series. If you land switch alot, then set the DIN setting on your heel a little higher, but make sure not to overdo it. that way you'll have lots of support where all your pressure is on a switch landing, but your toe will still release when need be. overall, just be safe with bindings and don't crank them as high as they'll go just becuase your favorite pro does.
