Binding Remount

I have a pair of line invaders 161 cm with maker bindings i bought last season, and this season i bought a brand new pair of salomon boots for size 11.5 feet (they seem to run small) and they do not fit my bindings. so i will have to bring them to the ski shop and have them remounted, i was just wondering if it would be a good idea to remount the bindings to fit my bigger boots? and what do they fill the holes in with, and how much it will effect the performance of the ski. Karma for good answers. thanks!

whats your boot sole length. its on the outer edge heel on the outside of the boot. It's embedded with the boot shell. its in millimeters (mm)

its fine as long as you find a good shop. make sure they are going to fill in the holes. i had a pair of seths remounted and they're fine.

it's hard to believe that the new boot is the correct size for you - No boots run 2 sizes bigger..

If it is infact the right size, then it's hard to believe you could put your foot in the 27.5 without some serious agony

Anyway, depending on the particular binding, it should accomodate one size difference in boot, but two might be streching it..In that case just remount the heels

a) - How big are you? Size 11.5 feet on 161 invaders doesn't seem right

Also I forgot they were invaders - slight issue in that they are symmetrical, so you ideally wouldn't really want to mount the bindings back from centre.

jesus, you should have some bigger skis, maybe consider remounting the toes in the same holes and just drill one new set of holes for the heels

i crushed my toes in those 27.5 boots 6 months ago, and went up roughly 1.5 shoe sizes since they wouldnt fit at all now, but the thing is... i put my feet in these new boots at a shoe size of 10 and they fit snug with a bit of toe room. and a remount wouldnt necessarily be a problem i had the guy mount them like a half and inch to an inch back just incase this occured...

i cant really get bigger skis... i would be too short haha. i have size 10 feet and i am 5' 4'' feet grew while i didnt grow too much in height.

1.5 cm with ski season bout 2 months away, i think ill be good by then... but i am more concerned at the moment about getting the skis remounted and set up for preseason stuff, which is right around the corner. and btw thanks for the help and ++ karma for the guy in the quoted reply.

You don't have to remount them. In fact I think you could do it on your own. On the rear piece of the binding below the DIN adjustment screw there's another screw. You can use that to adjust the binding to fit the boot size. Turn the screw so the binding piece starts to slide towards the back of the ski then once it's close to the boot sole length pop the boot in. Once the boot is popped in turn the screw the opposite way (slide inwards with boot in binding) and once it's tight you should be set for the season. I don't know if it made any sense to you but hopefully I helped.

Not good advice.

You obviously haven't heard of something called forward pressure before. Thats a good way to assist him in breaking his leg.

Also (assuming the heelpiece was set in the middle of the heelftack when they were originally mounted), they probably won't have enough travel to accomodate the difference in 2 shell sizes.

How do you do that on a new Look PX12? From looking underneath the binding I can see it looks adjustable, but there is no screw, just a flat medal plate... looks like i put upward pressure on that metal tab, and the teeth disengage to slide forward or backward.... sound about right?

Bad idea dude if his boot jumped two sizes his DIN will change. Just go to a shop an have them do it. A ski can be remounted a total of three times before it takes away performance and shops will refuse to do it. But before you mount your bindings go to a better shop and ask for a shell fit. I can guarantee those boots are to big. I where 11.5 shoe and shell fit at 26.
And i measure almost 28 on the scale. Go in and have them take the liner out then but your
foot in and slide it so it just is at the front and drive your knee a bit forward. Depending on
your skiing ability Expert (one finger behind the heal) and Intermedaite (1.5 fingers behind
the heal). Anything over two is way to much. You have to remember padding packs out
after a few days then you'll be floating and you'll get hurt.

wow thanks, finally some advice... i brought them in and had them remounted today, the boots should work out just fine. Thanks +++karma
