Binding recommendations for El Reys

Plan on ordering some 07/08 El Reys in the next few days and was wondering which bindings I should go with.

6ft

180lbs

178 El Reys

50/50 Park/All Mountain

Intermediate, almost expert though.

Gonna be mounting 4 - 5 off center.

Only pair i've seen suggested are Look px-12's.

Any thoughts? Looking to buy in the next day or two so don't hesitate to make a suggestion.

Thanks.

He will purchase the Ti model, as in Px12 Ti.

What DIN do you usually ride at? I wouldnt suggest Px12's for you, seeing how your 180lbs and a strong skier.

o i did not see the 180 lbs part. then maybe go with STH 16s they are a great light binding

To be quite honest I never pay attention to what my din is at since ive always just rented skis. I typically mark intermediate though on the forms.

What is steering you away from PX-12's tho? Not a high enough din? I'd rather pre-release then ruin my knee.

well im 140 lbs and ski super hard and my din is 10 for park and 13 for pow. so for you I would go a 12 din and u don't want to have bindings at their highest din cuz it can break the spring

What about px 15 jibs?

considering that im buying pair of skis, which are price points, and considering i only get to hit the slopes ~15 days a season, I didnt really want to pay $300 for sth 16's when im buying $250 skis.

Now, if you know where i can get sth 16s for $225 or so let me know.

o well seeing how ur on a budget I would go with the px15 jibs like you said. you will like them alot cuz they are light. or if you could find some used FKS that would also be great

Problem with the Px15's is the fact that the toe isnt a vertical release which isnt very safe for park skiing.

I ride at 9, and my FKS 120's did me fine. Im moving up to some Mojo 15's or X17's.

You could look at some older Axial 140's, Px14's, Mojo 15's, Deadbolt 614's, Salomon STH.....etc.

ya you can get deadbolt 14s for 200 off of jibij right now. that is what I have on my EPs and i love them but they are a bit hevy. mojo 15s are good but kind of hard to find super cheap. and I had no problems popping out of some px15s when I tryed them in the park

PX 12s would be fine, especially if you are on a budget. The only way you would need a din over 10 with those stats is if you were competing or skiing like you were. A lot of kids on newschoolers seem to like to crank their dins but its only going to mean bad knees later.
