Binding Question!!

Hey guys.

I recently bought a gently used pair of Armada Norwalks, previously drilled for a Salomon binding. I'm trying to find a new binding to put on for myself. I thought I heard a while ago that each brand has a specific drill pattern on the ski. So if a bought a Salomon binding I could use the holes that are already drilled into the ski.

Is this true? If I don't have to get the existing holes plugged and can just reuse them, that would be awesome. If not, I'm sure plugging them and starting over isn't a big deal either.

Thanks for the help dudes!

To clarify, if you can find the exact same model of binding, and you have a similar boot sole length to the previous owner, then you should be able to use the old holes. OG STH and the STH2 have a different heel pattern as mentioned and I'd generally avoid putting any other Salomon binding on my skis. You also run a minor risk of not knowing what the condition of those holes is. If the previous has pulled the bindings on and off in those original holes a few times, there could be multiple threads in there, weakening the holes etc.

Plugging and redrilling is no big deal if it's only a single set of predrilled holes. I wouldn't personally prioritize using the same binding to reuse holes over pre-drilling unless it was the cheapest option, but yes theoretically it could work.
