Binding Question

Anyone here ride schizo bindings? I'm interested in using them because i ride park 50% and pow/trees 50%. My friend says he loves them because it makes him so versatile on the mountain. If you have complaints about durability I am not concerned my uncle works for Marker so I get them for 75% off. My skis are 2011 salomon 2012s and my old ass salomon bindings I put on them just broke.

I've heard of a lot of issues with people breaking the track and plate of them. I actually watched my friend snap a pair off his skis, and he was just skiing on the cat track.

That being said, I'd say go with something like the Jester or Griffon, and strategically mount them.

I have the Jester Schizos on one of my setups and I've had no issues. I'm 185lbs and pretty rough on my gear, I've broken most bindings including "bombproof" FKS. These have held up fine this year including heavy switch landings on medium to large park kickers.

That said, it's only worth getting them if you actually need to move them around (eg. you're buying one ski for doing everything like a Fujas, Blend, ARV) that you really want to ski some days at dead center and some days at -5. If you just want to experiment it's not worth it - they cost more, there's more parts that could break and you're a little higher off the ski.

btw these are my only skis i love them they work so well on everything but i wanna be able to move a couple cm back sometimes for very soft snow

i dont think u should be worried, i hear that will hold up if u dont beat on em all the time, and if ur not tinkering with it every run. and i would say to definetly go with em b/c ur gettin 75% off and if ur uncle works there he would get em warenteed no problem!

id say to get em!
