Have never bought a pair of used skis before that hve been drilled twice for bindings. Should I try my best to find those same bindings and keep the holes to a minimum or is it ok to pick up a different pair and just epoxy the old holes

Dont use the same holes, your bindings will most likely rip out. Plug the old holes, then re drill. As a General guideline, re drilling is fine up to 3 times.

You have one opinion with no reasoning and one from someone who has done it twice to his own skis, friends' skis and countless customers'. Just do it.

i put bindings in the same holes all the time, they're the same as old holes unless they're stripped. just put epoxy or even wood glue in and put the screws in slowly with a screwdriver until they bite for sure and then crank them down slowly with a screw gun and get them nice and tight, nothing wrong with that method

Wow. This place really has gone downhill. Its a fact that helicoil will make it harder to rip screws out. I'm only saying this as i've had bindings rip out using old holes. Anyway, back to the thread.

You're telling the guy to spend money he doesn't need to. Some shops would charge $5 per helicoil and you're telling him to get 16.
