Binding heelpiece movement: Cause for concern?

Quick question...

The heelpiece on my rossi bindings is causing me some grief. On one of them, the heelpiece seems to have developed some play in it. The entire rig that is on the slide track has a slight amount of vertical give to it and it moves and feels a tiny bit loose if I pull up on it. It's not the dildo part of the binding, but its the dildo and the piece it's connected to as well. And yes, it's solidly mounted into the ski, so pullout is not the issue.

Is this an adjustment issue? Or are my bindings starting to break? I'm asking because I recently bought a new pair of skis and I'm not sure whether I should try to save some cash and just go ahead and use these or grab a new pair for the new skis before the bindings break. (if they are breaking)

The bindings in question:

do they still have that slop when your boot is in them? my old p14s have crazy slop when my boot isnt in them, put the boot in and they are fine. if thats the case then dont worry about it at all

I have the dynastar px12s and they move a little bit like that. I also have rossignol freeski 140s on a different pair of skis and the heel piece moves side to side on them as well. I don't think its a big deal, but I could be wrong

take them to a shop and ask if they will test them for you, if they are releasing fine, then you should be good to go. rossi heal's have a tendency to have slop in them and wiggle a bit when not clicked in

I just had this same problem, the rivets on the titanium part of the heel piece were getting some play, I was getting a solid 1/4" movement when I was skiing, not good! I just slid a new heel piece into the track and it solved the problem.

My advice, buy new bindings or trade out the heels.
