Binding DILEMMA

ok so hear is the deal.... I got new skis for this season and obviously need to put some binders on them, on my old skis i ran my older marker race bindings with a din of 12.

I run my skis at about 9.5 or 10_ i am 5 11 and 150 pounds

My problem is i thought i needed to up the din for my new bindings to a 14/16 but 12s are so much easier to find and cheaper...... Do you guys think i should up it or will i be ok staying with a 12??

thanks in advance, i gotta get these soon

I am 5'9 165, so shorter and heavier than you but I know last season I went from riding at 8 to riding at 12, and wish I would have gone for the higher din bindings.

I think at your height and weight you shouldn't NEED a din anywhere near 12..

In saying that, the higher din bindings are often built a little bit better (and, sure they are priced accordingly)

I'd go the higher end binding if you are able to spend a little more, purely from a durability standpoint

What particular binding would depend on other factors such as the type of skiing you do, how agressive you are etc..

^^ yea thats why this is a hard choice, i am an ex racer so i ski hard and fast, also a lot of switch, no matter where i am, prob 60/40 all mtn/park

then i would definitely go with the higher end binding. Look around, you can find them pretty cheap a lot of places. If you're paying over 140, you're paying too much.

I believe geartrade.com had a new blemished pair for 107 or something ridiculous. I dont think i need any bindings for a while which is why im giving you my secret bargain stash.

^^ thanks for all the input guys... I am open to options at this point, i have heard nothing but good things about all the rossi/look/dynastar bindings but i also have not had bad luck with markers, although jesters are out of my price range. I am unfamiliar with soloman bindings and 4frnts as well...... Opinions?

if youre getting a higher din binding those will all be fine. older 4frnts have had durability issues and markers with biometric toe pieces arent great for freestyle purposes but other than that all higher end bindings are fine.
