Billabong to acquire DaKine

they're not even a true surf company anymore. All they do is seed their soft goods to sell out stores.
 
Dude, Dakine started in Hawaii making windsurfing harnesses. They're more of a surf company than anything. They only recently started making gloves and packs.
 
hope fully they still make "dakine like" stuff. just be an extention to billabong.

im pretty sure the same thing happened with k2 and line... i tthink i read it somewhere.
 
it will still be dakine, billabong already owns von zipper, element, nixon,
and k2 owns line, volkl, marker, madshus xc skis, adio, marmot, and a whole other bunch of companies. they even own the baseball company rawlings
 
I don't think that this will change Dakine at all. Acquisitions in the sports world rarely seem to have much effect on the company being bought.
