Bill to allow legalization of Marijuana

it would be great if it did pass, but at the same time, it is a schedule 1 drug and probably won't be passed for another few years

I think this is the first bill going through the house to full legalize it on a federal level, but i could be wrong. I thought all the other ones were for state levels and decriminalization?

not exactly legalization, rather it leaves the legal status of marijuana up to the states and not the feds. it also stops federal interference in things like medical marijuana, so it would effectively end DEA raids on dispensaries and grow ops. thank GOD.

If it was passed, I have a feeling many states who decriminalized it would seriously consider legalizing it. Hopefully the Govt realizes it can boost our economy with it, and stem the drug wars caused by weed.

IMO this is how marijuana should be. feds shouldnt be involved, it should be up to each individual state to set their own rules for the plant. i guarantee if this ever passes and the first state to make it legal shows how much money they save in court time, police time, ect... other states will follow very soon after. not to mention everyone will be going to the states where its legal for vacations. tourism dollar will be off the charts.

Love this quote btw. so true.

"He said that unlike some other drugs, marijuana use does not lead to

violence or property crimes. “It has a great affect on donut stores and

ice cream stores.”"

i dont know why people get so hyped up over weed being legalized, it's pretty much legal already as long as you're not a goof about it.

i dont really care if it ever gets legalized, either way it will still be easy to obtain and smoke.

Not saying you in particular because I have no idea what your political tendencies are, but I hate it when people say the marijuana issue should be left up to the states but don't think that way about anything else. Like Paul said, be consistent, I am by no means conservative or Libertarian but have a lot of respect for that guy and agree with a lot of what he says.

What this will do is keep it out of the fed's hands. If you have a medical marijuana card and you have pot on you and you go into a national park and you get pulled over, you still get charged with possession. It should be state's choice.
