Bikers in the skatepark

onetime i was on my board about to drop in and some biker camse upo the q-pipe and did a 180 and knocked the board out from under me...i fell on my ass down the ramp and the douche didnt notice i fell. i bmx and it is fun to bike ramps and shit but i go to such small parks itd be too gay w/ them there

and if there's any dirt or gravel around the edge of the skatepark bikers ride in it and back into the park, bringing rocks with them, like it's nothing.

And its an overgeneralization that most mountain bikers arent aware of other people in the park. Also the reason mountain bikers go in skate parks is the soul purpose of variety. And mountain bikes can stop a lot faster than bmx bikes.

 
well bikers shouldnt be banned, they should just look out for everyone ( or atleast try because your gonna run into someone every once in a while) and make sure they dont break anything in the skatepark and everyone gets along fine.

have you seen the so called mountain bikes that people bring into the skate park? they're more of a big bmx than a mountain bike- 24" rims, hardtail, single speed, 4" fork, usually one brake. that doesn't sound too mountain oriented to me.

Skaters don't own skateparks. They were built on taxpayers money. Thus my money. If I feel like going to a park I will. Check pink bike they got all kinds of threads on this topic. And stop fucking generalizing: "bikers don't look", "they can't stop" etc. There are ignorant asses in every sport.

ya. i bike. but i also skate. and stop generalizing that all bikers interfer at skateparks and shit. ive seen it from both sides, and i think that being gay and rude and start shit with each other is just not the way to be. both skaters and bikers are there to have fun, and do something they love. so do it.

I see it as ktownchic sees it too, I use to be a hardcore skater, but I switched to biking. But even though there's a lot of shitty kids, and a bunch of good kids, we take turns and make agreements with them.

lol, I don't find the skatepark to be any place for a mountain bike really. If you are gonna mountain bike, then fucking go on a trail or mountain. I am a mountain biker myself, and I go on the trails and build bike bridges and shit. Now I BMX too and that is fine for parks. I like street more myself though.

Chill. I ride bmx, and have never had a problem with skaters. I try my hardest not to snake people, and if is screw up, i appologize. Noones perfect. I dont have pegs either if you people are going to complain about that.

dude thats like people telling skiers back in the day that they are wasting there time "freeskiing" and that only snowboarders should do "tricks". freeride(urban for that matter) mountain biking is progressing so much its crazy. if you were intouch with anything going on in the mbing world, you would understand how much this sport has progressed and has gone out of the definitive "mountain biking"

i think its cool that mountain bikers want to try new stuff and ride in parks, but i would rather have a bmx bike for the park and a mountain bike for that mountains. if i could afford another bike i think it would be cool to get one for like freeride.

to tell you guys the honest truth, skateboarders saying that bikers or bladers shouldn't be in the park is the most pointless arguement ever. i bet about 90% of the skateboarders making this arguement are the ones who are posers and can't land a kickflip. why should a biker have to put up with that kinda shit? you're not the government, you suck at your sport so just get outta the way and make room for other who are more willing than you to use the available terrain!

It really bothers me that some people use the skatepark as a drop off daycare for their ten year old who cant bunnyhop or ollie. They can come (when noone else is there sunday morning or early morning on a weekday), but they have to pick the times when the park is quite congested to stick their kid in the middle. It makes me angry, because they are just putting their kid in danger. I cant control shit once im in the air, and i would feel horrible if I landed on some little kid. Right, 3000 posts for all that.

this is retarded. ii am a biker too, and i agree. mountain bikes are big, ad bringin them to a skatepark when its congested, is just stupid. you cant expect to be able to ride when its that crowded. go early, and miss the crowds. either way, skateparks arnt that fun. real trails or real urban is way better. any good college campus is loaded with stair gaps, ledges, wall rides, rails, and interesting terrain. ride there. bigger stuff for bigger bikes. usually, the stuff in skateparks is pretty small, and a bike is just too big.

you dumbass the reason they do the smallest tricks is because tricks on a skateboard are like 10 times harder than on anything else.

but anyway i really dont care about bikers cause there usually pretty cool and dont go runing into people but i have seen a couple who have hit kids but each time its some rollerblader so thats ok.
