i need a new wheel for a road bike, but i haven't been to any shops in downtown.

any recomendations? places to avoid?

thanks for the info.

get one online most shops around have a limited wheelset selection...www.pricepoint.com is solid, not sure though if they have road bike gear though...

Downtown there's Salt Lake City Bike Company at 2nd and 2nd. (2nd south, 2nd East). It's a decent place.

And Realycyclist.com is the new bike site from Backcountry.com. If you order there shipping only takes a day.

bingham couldn't do it for me, they didn't have the wheel i needed, but 2nd and 2nd did, super cool guys, good prices too.

thanks for the input guys, i didn't want to go online because i wanted the shop to put the cassette on the rear wheel for me, as i am lazy.

try canyon bicycles in draper (on 123rd). great store, great people, great selection. what more could you ask for?

if you need wheels, you can almost always find decent ones at the bike collective, 2300s and west temple. It's all used bikes and used parts, but for the sake of wheels, there are a lot of really good wheels in really good condition if you look hard enough.

just a bump to give slc bicycle on 2nd and 2nd some props.

had to get a new wheel cause i got hit by a van. hooked it up for a decent price, put the rubber and tube on, everything.

the axle on the new wheel bent the first time i rode it, and i brought it back, they replaced it, no labor charge, and they checked my frame to be sure it wasn't bent and causing the axle bend.

did it quickly, and were super cool about it.

if you don't go to the collective ^, i would def. reccomend them to anyone.

depends who you get. i've dropped a bike off there for a headset replacement because i didn't have my tools with me. got the bike back and the headset was missing half the parts. spent 2 hours in the mechanic area with the mechanic teaching him how to work with headsets.
