Nissan is sponsoring a free ride tour, the arena? I'm glad you asked, it seems that TRAM FACE is where the event will be held.. Holy Crap. For those of you who aren't familiar, tram face is pretty much top 3 gnarliest lines at squaw if not number #1 , it has never been open to the public . It has been skied before but under the cover of darkness or super early mornings. Some guys skied it a few years ago and one ended up at Truckee meadows and left a Seth Vicious mid line due to it ripping off his foot in an avy . I'm very excited for this event, you should be too. bring your binoc's.

did you hear about the Golden Ticket??? Because this is an IFSA WOrld Tour Event you have to be on the tour to ski this event (no qualifying round), but thanks to Squaw Valley there will be a locals comp at squaw in February nad the winner gets the golden ticket allowing them entrance to the comp and a chance to ski tram face in all its glory!

That makes it even better, those guys don't want to get beat on there home turf, the cliff face they see very day on the way to the hill..

that is wild!
they have no idea the demographic their bringing with that 300 dollar college pass. mid day spa blunt breaks anyone?

haha. i want to see some dude ripping down that in some xxxl outerwear and win it.. it would be such a slap..

But yeah.. knowing there are people like Ingrid and JT Holmes that live at squaw.. shits going to go off for that ticket...

Parking lot party if the snow sucks? View from employee parking should be pretty good, or woods party.. Hmm so many options i'm super excited now.

what ? Not trying to be negative but those lines are rarely skiable like it in that picture and you need perfect condtions and enough snow for it to fill in.I really cant see this happening

Venue will most likely be to skiers left, not down the chute. Also, most comps aren't in good conditions, thats whats make the lines they ski more impressive.

haha that came of really negative..i want to see this skied just as bas as anyone..but i also dont wanna see anyone get seriously injured..hope its ski able and everything works out

someone needs to take a top down shot of tram face to do it justice, just looking down it is some scary shit, can't even imagine what riping lines down that in a comp would do to your heart

I've skied the hanging snowfield (upper left hand corner) to the exit chutes towards the funi and that is the mellowest part n that pic. Hats off to everyone who skies thru the legit tram chutes. If conditions are right there are airs in there that make Becks and the rest of the sades look like a bunny hill.

I heard there was gonna be a qualifier the week before the comp off Cornice II for handful of people to get in the comp.

if you click on the picture it goes huge and you can see multiple ski tracks that obviously came down from the chute

last time I was at squaw in late spring it definitly looked ski-able and didn't seem too bad right in the chute under the tram but I'm probably remembering it as easier than it is

Some local told me its trespassing to ski it but sometimes people ski it during a full moon

It's like someone woke up at Squaw and decided to show what makes that place so sick. So many local Squaw rippers! I wish I was there for this. Might be worth the trip back.
