So today i got frustrated at my Physics final and threw my phone into the floor. It is now in a dustpan thats how bad it shattered, more like exploded. Anyways, now that im down a grand literly a week after i bought my 7 plus, i gotta get another one. so my question is what is the dumbest waste of money you have ever had? kinda a stupid thread but im just trying to forget about my major fuck up today
 
Also you're a fuckin idiot for doing that. The fact that you paid full price for an iPhone shows how you value money and you decide to throw a phone, that you spent a thousand dollars on, because of a physics final?

Maybe your parents should pay for some anger management classes or counceling instead of buying you iPhones and paying for your college

honestly like who the fuck even robs homes anymore? i mean it happens still, but it is all just petty theft. like the majority of the time ppl are stealing shit worth under $1000 dollars
 
biggest waste is when people spend money on running a 5k/ race etc. Why pay 30+ dollars to run 3.1 miles??? Just go run 3.1 miles on your own......

I feel you OP. That's why I've been using the same flip phone for over 10 years now. Not only do I have a better mic and speaker than the i-phone but the thing has survived tons of hard trips to the pavement. Also $1000 can go a long way towards getting stuff that will actually result in more time and fun skiing.

You thought a piece of rubber or plastic less than a few mm thick would protect a fragile piece of glass from being spiked into the ground? After you paid full price for a phone?

So I'm a Pilot and one of our missions working for the Canadian Government in the Arctic last year was to fly 2 hours away to a remote community, pick up 6 drums of fuel (45 gal/200 litre each) and fly them back to our base to be burned because they were TWO!! years old. Repeat x 15. So 4 hours of flying in which we burn the equivalent of 8 of these drums just to bring this perfectly good fuel back to burn.. Keep in mind our plane costs the Government (tax payers) $2500/hour to run and this fuel was perfectly fine for not only our planes to use but also ideal for burning in the furnaces of everyone in the community.. Also the extreme remoteness of the area means this fuel has to be either flown up or brought up on a ship at astronomical costs.

So much head shaking.. but at least we have work haha.

I never understood this either..

I mean sometimes big races and events cost money, but that is because it takes a lot to put them on, lots of swag is given out, prizes can be on the line, proceeds are donated to charities, blah blah blah.. but once in a while you get those 5ks that are pointless that cost money. I dont get it.

I mean I guess I'm nobody to say what people decide, but then there would be no reason for this thread/discussion. In my opinion, buying/budgeting around marijuana is not a smart move and there's a lot more productive things you could spend your money on then dropping 20-100+ bucks a week on guan. I smoke, but I can't remember the last time I actually bought weed. Just get hooked up and smoke with friends. Idk just doesn't seem worth spending money I worked for on a few hours of feeling high.

I mean I'm not gonna offer somebody 5 bucks because they let me hit their joint, and even when I have my homies turned it down.

Obviously if somebody buys me a beer or drink at the bar I'm gonna return the favor or offer them cash.

I just find myself smoking with people who have already bought weed and they offer to smoke with me so I'm not gonna turn it down.

I realize that it is a contextual scenario, but it's still recreational and not worth spending money on. When you're getting so frustrated at a test that you literally smash your phone, you probably should avoid mind/behavior altering substances in the first place.

Casino gambling is usually a huge waste of money, unless you win of course. But that usually doesn't happen much since everything is rigged.

is it a waste of money if you get enjoyance in turn? The time spent putting together a car, driving it, being with your friends in it, the places you go are all something you get in turn. Same with weed, how is it a waste of money if in turn you have experiences, memories, friends, good times in general. nothing is truly a waste of money if you don't get anything from it. yeah my phone might have been a waste of money but atleast i will never do that shit again. i learned my lesson which in turn i guess you could say was not a complete waste of money.

Outdoor weddings are the way to go. Super pretty and you don't spend so much money on the venue.

10k would be a very small inexpensive wedding but I agree. It always burns me to think about the money I could have saved and put towards a down payment on a house.

Indeed. I was just about to buy a zip for $220 but I backed the fuck out because I finally came to my senses. Purchased a $200 4-person tent instead that will last me many years of adventures.
