Biggest pet peeve?

What is some of your biggest pet peeves when going to a resort? For me its adults who sidejump the lips (children get a pass because dont know any better, even though they should) or when anyone (skier/snowboarder) hits the back of skis in line (or on the lift) and doesn't apologize. That last one is dumb because I end up using my skis on rails or riding out onto concrete but still, its the principle. If I even tap someone's ski or snowboard I say "my bad".

So what is something that grinds your gears?

it’s def what you said about people running over the back or front of my skis. i hate that so much.

People be smokin in the lift lines like crazy at Hood, especially at Timberline where 80% of the people on the hill are under the age of 13. one time at meadows this guy was absolutely blazed in the lift line and fell down, he dropped like 8 pre rolls and after picking them all up himself, he accused me of stealing a few of them. He tried to fight me at the top of the lift, after I called him retarded and told him to take it easy (I was in 8th grade). He was clutching my jacket the whole damn time and ripped the waist synch out when he fell while trying to tackle me. I skied out of there as quick as I could. I get that smoking and skiing is fun but y'all gotta chill out, can't be fighting kids.

racers who drop their poles at the top of the lift. like fuck you bro if you drop those near me you're never seeing them again.

Ooo i forgot about this one when posting. This is up there for me. No one wants to hear your shitty edm music

Surprisingly, something that never bothered me in Europe drives me crazy in Colorado. When people lower the bar on the chairlift without warning and it hits you violently in the head.

I expect it when there are kids around, but wait two seconds for us to sit down before you knock us out.

Sounds like norms to me

Kids that heckle people. If it’s an adult and it’s funny, it’s chill. But the damn kids sitting at the top of the lift sayin shit like “do a flip!” or “boost that jump!” really annoy me. Not a single one of them can do any tricks either, they just turn to their friends after saying some grade school ass shit like “smh he didn’t even tuck for double. Come on guys, let’s go to the rail yard and only hit side lips”

there are kids who live next to my local and bring mini sleds and go off the lips. they run throughout the park and just get in the way

People who yank the bar down without warning immediately after sitting down on the chair.

I don't care if ya want it down or leave it up but my noggin/ nuts/ kneecaps would greatly appreciate a warning before getting violated.

Switch pizza is even worse, that shit deserves straight up red card

At park city someone slammed the bar down without any warning and the handle went straight into the Tupperware of this park crew guys lunch. Was nice to hear a bar yanker finally get the firm explanation they deserved.

honestly the overwhelming quantity of wooks ruins timberline for me in a way. I'm very tired of the crowd after going there the the last 6 spring passes. They literally stink in the lift line on a sunny day because the vast majority of them live in the woods and do not bathe

Think I gotta agree with the safety bar slammers being the worst. So easy to check with strangers or even homies by just saying ‘bar’ instead of smashing it down immediately without warning.

Lift line etiquette, and I’m talking more than just the stepping on your skis thing. People need to have some respect for the flow of the lift line. Alternate rows, fill the chairs. Don’t just duck the lines with your whole squad and cut everyone off. Looking at you Bush Parks…. Worst lift line etiquette anywhere I’ve been to. Real shame.

probably ski tourist families crossing down beneath jump landings from the side so you dont even get a chance to see them doing that stupid shit before dropping in.

bonus edit: snowboard moms that run nonchalantly run their board over skis

Negativity and people who make fun of beginners. “ theres too many people” is the most cringe remark. Like ok start by removing yourself then that would be a start. And “look at all these beginners on the side of the run waiting to be sprayed” would you be an instagram influencer if there was no one to influence??!?. And spraying people you don't know is the apex form of degenerate behavior.

“Medicine”

Bluetooth speaker is my number 1 by far. Also, when snowboarders do the lift line ground slap thing, it bugs me far more than I'd like to admit. Smoking in lift line is up there for me too.

nah this is totally valid, especially when you've been skiing at your mountain b4 the superpasses came along. too many people there who don't care about skiing as much as you do, gtfo out ur not even good.

the resort team kids who think they are better than everyone because daddy pays for them to wear a special jacket. people taking things to seriously and getting mad at not stomping tricks. racer kids. backpack speakers not playing wu tang. people doing coke in the lift line with out offering it to everyone else. my friends buying the other pass. my friends coming to ski and not hitting me up. my ex. cloudy days with no snow. employee discount on food being more than leaving and getting food in town.

When someone either shoves their way through the whole lift line or ducks the ropes and skis across everyone in line to get to their friends who “saved them a spot”

Coaches/comp kids who are assholes to everyone and act extremely entitled. Especially bad at copper, been yelled at by team summit coaches countless times

unless the music is good & not blasting then im ok with it. I feel like good music brings the mountain to life but brain rot trash makes the experience worse

When someone you’re skiing with is tryna find pow stashes and you end up hiking and traversing for like 30 mins just to find a little bit of fresh and the whole crew goes with. And it’s like that every run

When I was a kid there were two instances when people were smoking in line and I went straight up to them and took the cigarette of their hands or mouth and just stared at them. I mean I still hate smokers and would probably say sumn to them but I really thought I was invincible back then

people not calling drops, especially in high crowded areas - off the back of crystal chair in whistler is just 20 minutes of near misses

Where I ski people never call drops we just go when it makes sense

oof haha, I'd be rattled too. Worst one I've had was we had just sat down and I was leaning forward to angle my poles out of the way of the footrest (the wack new ones that go between your legs) and a dude pulled the bar down and it took my head with it. He was still trying to pull it down even after I was yelling "yo hold on my head is stuck" as I was being lawn chaired by the safety bar. Super fun

Lucky to ski in a ski area where most people have common sense i guess - main issue is generally not being able to see people due to trees and such
