Biggest jump ever?

Tell me of a more risky trick than a double cork (or double anything). And are you saying skiers dont wash out? Because, news flash, they do.

How about this...SKIING is the oldest sport in the world. This thing was created by cavemen in france who wanted a faster way to hunt. Skiing did everything, except grind rails first. All you see now is mainstreem shit. People were were bending their tips, slideing rails, and hitting half pipes at the same time as snowboarders......but all that anybody ever saw was snowboarders. Snowboarders gave us the style we ride with today, and the rails.....but that is it. The corks, grabs, skiing backwards....that was us finding it out on our own. Ohh BTW...would snowboarding even exsist without skiing...think about that one. We are two seperate snowsports helping out one another.

i think its pretty even. the fact that skiers have a harder time to control there 'flall' because they have four sperate parts (hands and feet) doesn't mean its harder for them to stay controlled. Snowboarders legs are locked together meaning there legs are one. Since they're one they have a much harder time balancing themselves in the air compared to skiers. They even each other out, IT IS REDICULOUSLY TOUGH TO BE STYLISH FOR BOTH SKIERS AND SNOWBOARDERS.

of course skier wash out. but compare the two sports. Skiers have two different planes to edge with. Snowboarders have one. If you (snowboarder)were to go against me in a stopping competetion(who can stop the quickest going the same speed) i (skier)would cream you. This is because i can seperate my weight between my two edges, my two skis. Snowboarders have just one edge that ALL their weight is on.

You could say that.

But then there's the rail aspect. Boarders have to do jack all for rails to look good. Skiers have to control there legs. This is coming from my bro who boards. And I've also skated for 6 years.

snowboarders grinds are way nicer then skiers. There nose and tail presses will always beat any grind a skier throws down. but ya i agree that grinding is tougher on skis then snowboards.

Its not easy to look good on a snowboard, if it was easy, then i wouldnt see about 10 random snowboarders a day doing mad hand/board flails. Its not easy to be stylish, on either skis or snowboards.

But that's just because they are on a snowboard. So you really can't compare the two.

And if you wanted to compare them by saying that. I could come back saying skiers are way crazier at unbans.

The fact that snowboarders are pressing double kinks, ect, kinda blows away most skiing urban. Sure, there are still multi kinks at angles, wait, snowboarding did that three years ago. Switch ups? oh, done, by snowboarders too.

Freestyle skiing went from ugly ass backflips to rodeo 7 rail taps in a matter of 7 years or so....how can you say its just catchin up to snowboarding when kids seem to be setting their own ridiculous pace that is at times above snowboarding? Bottom line: skiers did in 7 years what it took snowboarders to do in 25. Quit hatin

more like 15 or so, i dunno about 25....

and snowboarders are ahead of skiers, stop trying to argue that skiers are even or ahead, they aren't.

Honestly, I dont think that jump was that much bigger than the Jon Olsson invitational jump. Id say that are pretty comprabable in size

u say a boarder nosepressing looks nicer then a skier nosepressing?

really?

yo crazy foo,.

skiing is the sickest shit ever, not saying boarding isnt fuckin dope, but like damn,..

fact is:

most of the jumps weren´t landed clean and skiers would have thrown down their tricks clean which would look much sicker...

What a completely retarded statement.

Skiing started nearly a century ago and there are INSANE big mountain skiing videos from the first half of the 20th century. Get documentaries/interviews from guides from Berner Oberland or La Grave: everything started with skiing.

Snowboarding exists thanks to skiing and newschool skiing exists thanks to snowboarding. It's all related, it's all one big family, they all give and take from each other.

I just have to throw in my $.02

Grinding on skis is easier to do I think. Unless your talking about a 50-50 because that's just riding like normal, but on an object. Skiers aren't allowed to do that. A skier 50-50's down the scariest fucking box ever, and people will still say its dumb. You just can't compare a 50-50 board grind to any skiing grind.

Also I've never seen a boarder do a switch up. FS boardslide to BS boardslide? Sounds incredibly hard. I don't count 50-50's once again, because that's the way they ride, apples to oranges compared to ski grinds.

So many of you sound retarted on here...

Skiiers have taken sooo much from snowboarding, along with snowboards have taken alot from skiing. Just face the facts that all extreme sports feed off one another, i would like to think for the better...however there are some of u out there that think this is such a bad thing...that we only need to take things from skiing. If this were the case we'd still probably be stuck doing johnny mosely 360s... Skiing has influcneces from roller blading, skating, surfing, climbing, and yes the biggest one...SNOWBOARDING! Let it be for what it is....THE BETTER!!!!!!!!
