It looks like the biggest indoor ski slope in the world is finally comming. They will build it in an abandoned quarry in geraardsbergen, Belgium.

At the moment they have 80 Million euros. They need another 10 million to make the dream come true.

The work is being resumed after 3 years of silence. Steep slopes with a height of 80m and a total surface of 100 000m².

A green slope with a length of 150m, a blue slope with a length of 800m and 2 red slopes with a length of 500m. There is also comming a black slope but no information has been given about it and a special place for "fun board".

These pictures were taken from their facebook SNOWGAMES LESSINES, go check them out.

Nothing beats a real mountain but this is huge, especially for a tiny country like Belgium.

What do you guys think?

fuck yeah.

Indoor skiing sounds shit but it's actually the bees knees. Reliable conditions all year round. imaginative parks which are always getting changed up and a solid crew or regulars. that's how it is in yorkshire anyway.

fingers crossed for this to be awesome.

That's because the park crew at Castleford know what they are doing, well they have more knowledge/imagination than other park crews down south.

Back on on topic. A indoor hill in Belgium is a great idea. Just over English Channel for me and up into Belgium, easy.

Looks pretty sweet, this may be a re-post but check the one planned in Sweden.

Measuring 700 meters (2,297 feet) long and with a drop of 160 meters (525 feet). With an impressive height close to 135 meters (443 feet), the sporting facility will create a striking landmark, positioned in a forest located in Balsta, 45 minutes outside Stockholm.

It says it's an abandoned quarry. Which means at one point it did not have water. I'm assuming they are going to get rid of the water.
