biggest bag of tricks?

that jon´s trick is a corked/d-spin 900 in the pipe.. he does it exactly the same way as he does his d-spins on tabletops...

alright i guess it is an older issue...it is october 2001 and the article is way in the back, it is titled INVERTED 900 NUANCES ON THE INVERTED PIPE PROJECT.

they coment on 2 different types of inverted 9's, one being the d 9 where they use jon olsson as an example and even have a sequence of him doing it. the other type is the McTwist version and they use philou as an example.

here is a quote 'Most skiers choose to throw an inverted 900 in the pipe with dspin style, as Jon Olsson does in this photo sequence. He sets the trick by corking a 360 as he comes off the wall. Note the emphasis on throwing the downhill shoulder back toward the wall of the pipe.

By the end of the 360, Jon is inverted. Now he finishes with an off-axis flip, tailgrab in hand, and spins 180 to land.'

now here is a quote in the section about the mctwist version directly from jf cussons mouth.

'Philou does his 900 with a cork,' says Cusson. 'He spins forward, corks it, and his head goes a little beneath his body.'

note that he says a LITTLE beneath his body.

now you may be right that he does a mctwist 5 but i have never seen it so i dont know, but his 9's are dspin style.

OK. as i said before after watching his seg in propaganda carefully i admit that 2 of em are more like d-spins but the first one looks more like a mctwist i think.

ok, they are mcD-spins.

whos gonna back me up here with the Nick Mercon thing?

The only better park/pipe skier as i see it is Olsonn and maybe Pollard

'Oh my god, are you rubbing your balls?'-really hot chick who was all over one of my friends, then he had his hand in his pants, rubbin the sack cuz it was uncomfortable (he was very stoned)

thanx!

i haven´t really seen mercon so i can´t answer, his propaganda seg was shot from such a stupid angle.

1260 in the pipe is rad though.

Definitely not Mercon. Although he does back flips and back 180s, I have never seen him throw a rodeo. And yes he is sick on the rails.

As for the McTwist vs. D-spin in the pipe, check out the new FREEZE. The sequence (and still) of Philou's 900 show him flipping forward - although it is a little hard to see cause of the fisheye effect.

Jon, Tanner, Mercon all do the same trick - Nick calls it the Toxic Avenger - and it is very much like a d-spin. They all flip more than Philou during the second rotation - check out the Mercon sequence in the Superpark issue of Powder. In the last frame of the top row of that sequence, Nick is still upside down, whereas Philou has already done a forward flip and is more upright at the same point in the trick.

The problem is that the trick mutates in the pipe and does not look exactly the same. Watch for it in the US Open and X-Games pipe events over the next couple of weeks.

biggest bag of tricks is mike d, skogen or eric pollard.

mike d just does a lot of different tricks.

skogen and EP do so much stuff unnatural.

Thats ok! i get em for free from pih-hill-ou' -Shaniqua Bootycall

from Frezze:

'I did not have many expectations coming in to this today,' claimed Olsson. 'But after seeing the snowboarders yesterday, I knew I had to go big and mix in the big trick. The (McTwist) 900 was that trick and I am just really happy that I was able to stick it on the first run and get the good score.'

oh actually the mctwist is in clammers so maybe he said 900 and freeze added mctwist, damn i thought i had proof.

anyone saw it? mctwist or d-spin?

i say his first 9 in propaganda is a mctwist but i have given up the other ones.

Håtveit for sure... He is def best in the air and got a really good, but underrated railgame.. He got it all..

well andreas hatveit is not the big innovator, but his bag of tricks is sick - everything out there he can do in all directions - and he slays rail

Bobby Brown. That short edit of him in NZ showed him doing like 6 or 7 different dubs. Wallisch and Andreas are close behind though.

sammy for sure. he has double rode cork and now misty. he slays on rails and he destroys backcountry/pow too. he is in my opinion the best all around skier out there right now

Thats what i was thinking. Im really surprised no one has said his name before this. Hes got most tricks natural and unnarural. and he kills it on all types of rails/jibs.

not a big innovator? He was the only one along with jacob wester throwing dub corks at JOI 3 or 4 years ago, not sure what movie this is in... Reasons maybe? Hatveit is sooo underrated (like all norwegians in general), he's got all the tricks and he's always on the podium.

i wouldn't say hes underrated in any sense, along with jon hes one the higher paid athletes. but hes kills it all, and i love his back yard set up
