okay, so i have a pair of 156 k2 miss demeanors (chik ski_), anyways.. they are center mounted, so i am looking to get a pair of all mountain/powder skis.  i've got a friend who can hook me up with a pair of salomon temptress with bindings for 150 $$  which is an amazing deal. i dont want to pass it up, but here is the catch.  they are 171... i am 5'7 and about 130 pounds... i just dont really know if this is too big or not.  so yea please help me out.. and i searched ski sizing.. but i dono.. i would prefer more specific answers.  
 
you will be fine, maybe even a bit small, im 5'4 and i just had my first day on fujis that are 169, they feel just right... except i sink pretty bad in the pow
 
my girlfriend is 5'8 and around your weight and she skis 169 missdemeanors just fine. she actually skied on the a pair of 170 volkl v pros before the k2's which were 2x4's and skied them fine. 171 in a salomon ski should be no problem at all.
 
okay thanks guys, you've all just made me more enthused. i'm totally stoked.. its a great deal.. the bindings aren't that great so i may ahve to invest in new bindings.. but nevertheless. yay!
 
yeah you can always get used to skis on the longish side, short ones however can be always holding you down.
