Bigger jumps

Ok so this weekend i think im gonna start throwing tricks over like 40 or 40+ foot jumps and i was wondering what are common injuries. Ive straight aired them a ton. Im goin to vail the weekened after this one and i dont wanna ruin my trip. Im like a decent skiier i can throw tricks over like 25 footers or so. I ski east coast too so the snows probably gonna be rock hard. What are usual injuries? Just like bruises?

decapitation, snapped femurs, broken necks/spines, eyes gouged out, jaws ripped out, limbs exploding, spontaneous combustion.......etc...

haha spontaneous combustion. But like during a normal fall what usually happens? bruises? Likje if i land backseat i wont like break a rib will i? normally?

if you land backseat, i can promise you that you will be FUCKED UP. good luck walking for a while. don't land backseat or you will die.

2.83 times as much, actually. big jumps are SO dangerous, though... you probably shouldn't hit them. if you don't land absolutely perfectly, they better have an ambulance on the scene cause you're gonna get the piss knocked out of you. i'd be so scared if i were you.

i would suggest just start throwing shit over 35 footers and then go for 40, 45 and then onwards because i may not look like it but 25- 45 is a pretty big gap

all right fuck head but last week i saw some snowboarder straight air it and get knocked out cold. took like 12-15 ski patrol dudes to get him out.

It will be scarier, but not as much if you remember these things:

Visualize what you are going to do, with the added size.

Keep your eyes and hands up if at all possible. This prevents you from going corked/becoming fucked in the air.

When you fall, because you will, try to get your feet down first, and if that doesn't or can't work, then remember that your shoulders and hips are good places to absorb impact, and that if you use your arms, you will break your arm/ shoulder/ penis.

thats the wrong question to ask if you wanna learn to sack up on bigger jumps, dont think about what kinda injuries people get. people tear acls trying to get down blues, but that doesn't matter just go for it. and if you can do tricks on 25 footers try steppin up to like 30 or 35 footers. the only problem that might get worse on bigger jumps would be landing back seat, at least from my experience. so make sure you set your spin nice and level.

your over thinking it way to much, just land on the landing and you will be fin, it doesnt hurt anymore than falling on a 25fter if your lanind on the landing...just dont undershoot it, landing on the knuckle of a big table is one of the most painful things ever, it just jults your body, but that last for onr run then your back to normal, you wont get hurt anymore than on a small jump, just remember dont spin so hard for 3's and 5's like you would on a small jump

if you don't feel right, don't do them. straight air, then 180, then three. then anything else. it wouldn't kill you to just wait till vail.

i think 3s are way easier than 180s on big jumps. assuming you get them dialed on the 25 footers.

and if you dont do shit till you feel comfortable you aren't gonna progress very far, I mean it's gonna be scary thats how it goes you just have to go for it.

i straight aired 40 footers a ton and then 2 weeks ago i went to try a 3 over a 45 foot table which was the biggest hi i had ever done and broke my wrist. it sucked but when i get out of my cast i am going to stomp it!

I find if you fall on a big jump, as long as you hit the landing right, and dont over shoot or case, you're usually not gonna get hurt. I bruised my tail bone the other week tho that kinda sucks.

haha well i just started park skiing this year and ive learned everything in the past month really. In the past month ive learned how to slide a rail, 270 onto a box, switchup on a box, 3s, sw 3s, workin on 270 out and 5s. But now that some big jumps are built i think im gonna try and throw some tricks over htem. From what i see as long as i land in the landing it doesnt seem like im gonna get hurt too bad.

dont really make that much of a diff just dont overshoot or case 40 isnt even that big really trust me u wont notice that mcuh

You probably wont fall as much on the jumps at vail because there better than any east coast jumps. You'lle pop perfectly and if you land wrong you might just get bruises/snowburn/shin bang

tell me about it. last week i hit the knuckle on only a 35 footer doing a 360 and i fucking owned my arm. i hit the funnybone hard as hell on my knee and rebounded off teh landing cause i absorbed teh fall and kept spinning and landed it. it was actually pretty sick. 540 bitchesss
