i live in the mountains, because i ski, and am travelling to new york with the school. People have said it is a bit dangerous, i was just looking out to get a few tippers on how to be safe? I was thinking either pepper spray or a extendable batonnette because me and a few pals who are all going have an army surplus store by are school and it is fun to go and look at their crazy gear, so i looked and thought it was crazy but i worled all summer so i have lots of money and was wondering if it might be smart to get those

yeah i live like an hour and a half away from new york and i go there all the time, basically the entire island of manhattan is safe, and that is where most of the shit to see in new york is, i go out alone at night all the time when im there and because there are so many people its not a big deal at all, ive never really stayed in any of the other burroughs but obviously certain parts of the bronx and harlem are dangerous at night, but ive been all over during the day and you really dont have anything to worry about, sure bad shit happens all over NYC, but the probablility of it happening to you is extremely low, invest in a 9mm glock just in case, because sometimes when your in a dark alleyway and two large black men are about to rape you a gun can come in handy, its only happened to me about 3 or 4 times though
