Damn i dont think i could smile in that situation. I have seen plenty of people ski with one leg so im sure he will keep skiing(or any other activities) it just wont be the same. Much respect this put me in a good mood and reminds me to be positive.
 
I feel like anybody in those circumstances takes on a new perspective of life. From the looks of it this guy is coping with it real well. Vibes to him, cannot wait to see this guy on a sit ski or a prosthetic!
 
vibes, hopefully he'll find some way of skiing again in the future, just like deuck did. Good to see he's still smiling.

This is jeffrrey denney, he is one of my best friends. He was skiing the canyons and slid out into some trees, freak accident, broke his pelvi and his right shoulder blade. And Obviously lost his leg. He's the most positive strong and brave person I know. He also currently is using my laptop so I'm on my phone.
 
There wasn't enough healthy flesh to save his ankle and foot, he was in the trees alone off the side of the trail for twenty minutes. And to those who said lumberjack or axe, have fun when ur karma rapes your asshole painfully. This is an amazing person who needs your support and I'm the only one allowed to joke about his leg and it's still too early to do that. This is like the first pic without his leg showing
 
Hell ya he is, he's already talking about it. I just taught him how to kill. It skiing switch too lol. He wants to be in the paraolympics

Sad story but major stoke for him smiling and staying positive. Mad vibes to this guy. I hope he shreds and kills the paraolympics in the future.

About the Paralympics: first thing I thought when I saw the picture was "this guy's so gonna be a Paralympic champion".
 
Okay, now I'm on a computer much nicer than my iphone. Yeah so Jeffrey is super rad, already talking about the paralympics, and I've already called dibs on his sidekick to travel and cheer for him. Before the accident he was still the most positive guy you have ever met. He's actually the reason I moved to pc, when I saw his leg for the first time my heart sank, I didn't think it could have happened to someone like him, but I looked up and he wanted a hug depsite his broken shoulder blade and pelvis he just had surgery on. Hes the most inspiring person and I'm so fucking glad he didn't hit his head. If anyone wants to help get him a new top of the line prostetic leg for skiing next year buy one of his posters or something. My tumblr is lame but when I do visit him I post pictures and updates if you all are curious!

how are making jokes about this guy significantly different from making fun of tanner halls broken ankles? is it just the magnitude of his injury? or his pro / am status? just too soon perhaps?
 
because tanner halls ankles broke and he made a full recovery. This guy lost his leg. You are incredibly retarded if you can't see a difference. How would you feel if you lost your leg a few days ago and now have to go your whole life without a leg and some kids on the internet made jokes about running into a saw?
 
i understand that difference, but i dont see why it is so important to be super sensitive to someone who ive never met. saying that he crashed into a lumberjack or skied into a saw doesnt do any harm. its situational humor and doesnt actually attack the victim and shouldnt, god forbid, hurt his feelings. i appreciate that its not as nice of a thing to say, but there is no rule on NS against being sarcastic. like i said, i get that it isnt the nicest thing to say about his situation, but strictly in my opinion it shouldnt be ban worthy.
 
No one said it was banworthy and that has nothing to do with this. People have no fucking respect. Seriously how would you feel if you lost your leg in a skiing accident, which is a sport that you LOVE, and when you feel crushed because you don't have a leg anymore some people in your own sports community are cracking jokes at your expense? Just because you have never met them doesn't mean your actions don't effect them. Grow up.
 
its banworthy because my other account got banned. i dont want to start making assumptions about a very grey area concerning other people's feelings, but i dont think what was said was atrociously disrespectful considering the circumstances. it was sarcasm, without the intent of sincere disrespect or abuse. it was simply highlighting the rarity of the event that happened by comparing it with an equally unusual hypothetical situation. i used humor because i like making people laugh, not because i have a lack of respect for this guy. and im guessing (and i know this is complete conjecture) that a guy who is already talking about going to the paralympics when he is still in the hospital bed isnt going to get all broken up because someone on the other side of the country suggested that he skied into a lumberjack.

so sorry if you disagree, its probably just because im so immature.
