I'm not sure if it is just me but i get the feeling that people just hate big spins and flips. I guess they are too 'hucked' for most people on this site, but I think they are sick. When is a spin considered too big? I was just raeding in some yearbook thread and this kid was bashing seth for doing a double back, it was 'gay' he said. I am really failing to see why people don't like them.

i think double backs are sick.....and big spins are sick, as long as they are done well. but i would still rather see a styled out 7 than a pencily are flailing 12

I think double backs are pretty dope too and big spins can be tight as well, they just have to have good style. I don't care how big a spin is if it's super hucked and pencil style, I really don't think there's any need to spin any bigger than a 9 unless you're going incredibly huge

If you can spin fast and big with style, go for it, its when people do pencil 10s at a hundredth of a second per rotation that it becomes ugly. Big flips are cool though.

well if you start out doing pencil/hucked 1440s and keep doing them, ignoring everyone that say that you suck and to stop, after a year you will be able too do them with a lot more style. you just gotta keep improving your spin, slowly.

it always seems like people who don't really understand what style is like to see the big spins more because they seem more impressive to the general public, but if you're into the sport, you probably like to see all the grabs and stuff more rather than just pencil it out.

Big spins are cool and all but honestly this year for the X games big air I was getting kind of bored of everyone throwing the same triple every single time. Big props to Vinny cash for winning the gold without throwing anything more than a double, he deserved it. Style>technicality
