Big spin shifty

I want to see some shiftys in big spins, anyone got some videos.

Ive seen a couple really good ones but i cant seem to find them
 
lol me too i would love to see a nose mute and at 9 start the shifty so your full shifty at 10 and bring it to 12 at the last second

that would be so dope

not really a shifty, he just kinda slows it down fast. still awesome tho. bibby's are legit shifties.
if you wanna see real legit shifty's look at bibby, nyman, ian wayde, and max hill they all have awesome shifty'swatch this video, its full of shifty's about 1:48 is the best tho, a super smooth double shifty 7.
 
i dont know.... he just kinda stalls a little when he lets go of the grab, to be a legit shifty, you gotta really shifty in the opposite direction. i guess you can call it a shifty, its alot easier to say then mid air stall. its still sick, but this guy wants legit a legit shifty.
for a big spin shifty, i think bibby's and nyman's are the best. though its hard as hell to do them with big spins.
 
thats like calling a late 180 a shifty, theres a pretty big difference. he lets go slows down and kinda late spins out of it, theres no real shifty motion in there.
 
er you have to force a shifty otherwise you're only slowing down your rotation

im pretty sure if freeskier has bibby showing you how to do them he knows how to execute the perfect shity

moving feet in the air? thats a shitty definition. you could do any stupid little movement and call it a "shifty"
after watching it more, all he really does is open up and kinda poke his feet down, the skis stay with his body the whole time.
when you watch other people's LEGIT shifty's their bodies are close to 180 ahead of their ski's when you look at tom's he's pretty much even with his skis the whole time,
 
Watch some of Ian Wade's stuff on youtube he throws in lots of shifty's

Yea that switch ten was not really a shifty, that nymen vid is the shit i was going for.

So ill.. I wanna see more pros doin shiftys like that
 
that is the worst type of shifty and looks absolutely terrible in most cases. toms switch 10 is an example of someone with good style doing a shifty. this isn't moguls, we aren't doing twisters, the goal isnt to look like a Gumby doll twisted in half.
 
im not saying they all have to be like that to be a legit shifty, its just with toms his body was right there with his skis the whole time, his arm crossed his body which might be why people think it looks like a shifty. you gotta be like 90 degrees or so or atleast really whip your skis back the opposite direction atleast, not just open up.
anyway watch the the video i posted of nyman, and watch the double shifty 7 at 1:48, at the first shifty his body is almost 180 ahead of his skis and it looks steezy as hell.
 
I love stuff like Cosco at 0:45. With the shifty closer to the middle of the spin. It's hard, but looks really look.

Fucking please... Tom's trick is definitely a shifty. It's like the difference between a regular mute and a tweaked one, sure Nyman's might have been more "tweaked" but there's no denying what Tom did was a shifty. More importantly, it looked way better. As someone else said, it's an example of someone with style doing a shifty.
 
Yes, those were sick. And you can't argue those because he stops rotation, moves the other way, then finishes it out. Those in Turbo....meh...they look sick for sure but you can easily argue either way.
 
You know, Tom's style on jumps is really a prodcut of how many different grabs he has and how comfortable he is with them. That says a lot about bigger spins not being the way to go... grabs are definitely it. Fuck switch 16 mutes, do a sw 7 with a new grab and I'll be interested.



HEADS UP: From now on if you want to upload videos like the ones in this thread, upload them to newschoolers... NS's video system now has better quality than just about anywhere else, and embeds from other sites are likely going to be disabled in the not too distant future.
 
First of all, I completely agree with your comment about grabs. New grabs are way cooler than more spins.

But disabling foreign embeds is idiotic. I understand that you want to make NS the place to go for ski video hosting, and that's cool, but there are tons of videos embedded on this site that have NOTHING to do with skiing and you would ruin all of them. If anything, disable foreign embeds in SG only. Anything more than that is fascist.
