Big Sky's Park

We just got some more steel in I'm going in now hopefully can get 2 new rails in by Sunday

Anyone got any ideas for a new rail? I got a bunch of 4" round bar

Yes sir. i fly in tonight at 11 p.m.

Then will be up at around 10 ish tomorrow. But my dad is coming from germany so he might be sleeping a little later.

A simple, well made flat down with urban approaches onto the down and a landing coming off the down (not straight into the flat ground). The possibilities on that set-up are endless and it is good for all ability levels. It is easy to make also. Not more than a 30 degree angle for the kink. 15 foot flat to 30 down would be ideal.

Dogg, i'll one up you with something that has NEVER been up at big sky. An S rail, PLEASE!

Well as much as I'd love the s rail the steel that was gave to us is to thick of a gauge to bend without a pretty heavy duty rigid bender, which mainly only welding companies have witch would cost big money, but that would be my number one pick for next year when they order steel. So I'd say a flat down would be the next best thing. Just got done with a smaller a frame rail for either explorer or 2.0' gotta remember the kids

Two requests for yall. One, when you guys finish the gap to down box, are you guys gonna build up a second lip to hit it urban on? That would be awesome.

And 2, the hip is preeeetty sketchy, it could use some love.

But seriously, you guys killed it, love the flow of the park now, nice not having a ton of space in between features. The butterpad is fun as hell, so is the up rail pad down rail. All in all just a rad setup. My only complaint is the huge gap to the long flat rail, but other people seem to like it so whatever.

with your sky pass you get access to 3 of the 4 moonlight parks. all of which are ill, plus the 2-4 big sky parks with swifty and swifty 2.0 which have been recently redone and the nice jumpline.

just as an admirer, swifty is looking mighty fine right now. Props to all the park crew for getting things done

after two years, i have finally skied park at big sky. the rail features were mighty fine, but i might suggest a longer landing (if possible) on the jump in swifty's main park. i bummed my shoulder by overshooting/over-rotating the short landing, and am now gimping around. don't take the ability to take off a t-shirt for granted!

Actually a pole jam out of the end of the butterpad would be pretty sick. like just straight out little cannon thing. Steamboats park had one when i was there, pretty fun.

Not at all since yours looked like something out of a demon xgames course hahahahaha.

And im saying leave the butter pad unaltered so you can hit it as is, or hit the jam/canon/protruding thing.

Also, yall should just chuck the double red barrel in the middle of one of the 2.0 jumps vertically so you could tap the side.

hahaha

Also, i will be up tomorrow by myself... :(

So if anybody wants to ride im wearing black pants, jiberish twisted black, and on ep pros. if im in a lift line i will probable have a green kendama in my hand.

not really park related, but whats with the new corral at the bottom swifty? gotta go all the way around to the far side from 2.0.....

Classic example of why Boyne can suck my nuts. In the mornings on a pow day there is a huge line at Swifty for first chair for first tram (which is retarded because the tram usually won't open til 10 because of control work on a pow day) and people can get a little pushy. Some stupid whiney instructor bitched to the guys up top about it and now we have to redo all that crap. Its a load of bullshit and almost everyone who works here agrees. It makes it even harder to load people on Swifty now too, stupid fuckers wait until the last fucking minute to figure out who they're riding up with. Gaaaaaah.

Whoa whoa whoa. It's easily worth it, even if it means lining up at 8 15 and not getting the first turn in 'til 10 30. But yes, it does get pushy pretty often. The dirtbags are surprisingly civil, though, and often have the first 5 drops arranged before anyone's even loaded Swifty.

The real pushiness happens at the Triple, people get in actual fist fights there. Its just annoying that one little butthurt complaint makes us have to change a ton of shit.

people are going crazy i guess. i heard from a moonlight patroller there was a fight in their patrol shack on the summit

I saw a snowboarder fall so hard on that yesterday. he went off the cannon part and the rip of his board hit the side of the box and the guy whip lased his face and body into the box.

We have a few hypotheses...

And about the patrol fight, right now its just a rumor but I don't doubt it.

Park is prime right now. Park crew, you're doing a great job. The hip is so fun now. Only suggestion is to put a bit more pop on the lip. Other then that, perfect
