Big Sky End of the season park shoot

i spoke with chad jones in marketing a while back and was told there would be no post season shoot

i heard that they wanna build a jump over the good luck chair lift...it would be crazy if they did

on a side note are the descriptions of the parks at big sky up to date on thier site? looks like they have some nice setups.

No Big Sky shoot this year, and no mnt biking this summer. They can hardly keep their lifts open this long, due to mechanical shit. I guess Boyne was not impressed by last two years, and saw no real value in Super park deal, and no film company has stepped up. And Boyne may not even be the land owners by next season. This is all from a corporate contact at Boyne.

Oh yeah, and skiing the Dakotas may be trespassing next year!!!!

I have heard faint whispers of some bigger film crews meeting in Cooke City one more time, as they have been down there a lot this year.

Film companies initiate these shoots, and no one had any pull with Big Sky this year. Jeep is no longer paying for that shit, and no real films are being made around here. A couple people; MT rush and some local filmers have got shots... but nothing worth paying for. Monkey was the closest to the real thing around here. They are done. I think level one has been in Cooke City and T-3 has been around too.

If anyone wants to make it happen next year, let me know, get a good (sponsored) movie together and give me a month or two and I can make it happen.

what companies have been there in the past (other than the guys who made go gonzo?) and is this going down at great divide?

they are building the jump over the chair lift at great divide next week for people to film but it will only be for the week i guess, and it is just a bunch of snowboarders like kyle miller and whoever he films with they have been up here the last few days. thats all that is going on should be a sweet jump tho!

well according to evtic, we aren't worth shit, despite all the talent we have this year. a lot of people are pretty stoked on our stuff but whatever, check out the teaser.

you guys (whoever is involved in making this movie)are not the same people that made "Go Gonzo" are you?

MT rush is dope, I guess I meant $20 movies. No pun, I dig your teaser and SAge and Collins and such. I just meant that it takes dough to get that shit going, it has been Jeep's show up there.

I dug contusion, my one gripe is that the dude who broke his leg all up didn't say shit or show it and erik was all over it about his injury. I love Erik but he has got some mad hate from his part in that. I voted for it at coldsmoke. And sent a copy to my homies in boulder at that one magazine.

i think i have skied with you before ^. Your evan right? well thanks for the compliments. this movie this year is on a entirely different level from contusion. just wait till the film comes out this fall.

Your flick looks to be good, I am glad to hear you put Collin in it, and Sage dropping angry chair. I think you guys would have owned coldsmoke if you edited out some of the everyday lines at bridger and some of Eriks lines, no pun.

Austin, you guys need to get out to Slushman's and Saddle next year to film, it's sick. There's a few really good lines I want to check out given I can stay intact for longer than two weeks next season. Like, 50 degree spine to 20-40 mandatory air type lines.

You should also film with Kyle Daugherty, he is a snowboarder from Seattle and he has been stomping 100 foot rodeos in Bradley this season. Every time I see that kid he is killing it, he also landed a bs cork 5 off that weird tree drop thing on right as your ride up Pierre's, it was steeze.

Did MT Rush use MSU ski team guys this year??

we have been chillin with those guys a little. good bunch of guys and pretty damn good big mountain skiers. i am not giving any more away, just wait for the movie, there is some sick shit from this winter, and it is far from over.

Soooo.... because im bummed by the lack of late season photo shoots in Montana this season, and the late season snow pack, I would REALLY like to put together a backcountry photo session in slushmans in two weeks...looking at a 50-75 ft step down style jump on the winlip (depending on snowpack, last years mid-season shoot was plenty big enough for doubles), an aerial style booter over some trees next to it (JOI 08 style)...barbeque, food, music, sled access, competition style and full out photo shoot

Let me know if any of you are onboard with the idea so we can start hustling some sponsors and put together a prize purse, contact eric with Bonfire Films at:

We could use help putting the event together and coordinating if people are game, but what we really need is a response from anyone interested in the event so we can plan around everyones interests...

The snow is definitely there, I've never seen better coverage at Bridger than I saw today. Unfortunately, my doctor says I can't jump off stuff for quite a while yet.

how would sleds access it, it is under non-motor access until road is open??? I am down though, I can ask the USFS about it, or did you want to skirt them??

I can help, let me know. Would you want $$$ or stuff as sponsorship???

I spoke with the USFS today and should hear back tomorrow about a permit - I would image it will either be very expensive or not available at all on such short notice. However, I also spoke with the GM at Bridger Bowl who will try and work out access via bridger for equipment etc...but probably not for atheletes due to the liability...

We can definately use all the help we can get to pull this off in under two weeks, as for sponsorships - gear, food, equipment, logistics help etc are all good! Money is better! Central helicopters will charter a photo-copter for a few hours for $800, Carisch helicopters will call back tomorrow with an estimate - so money is VERY good!
