Big Skis = Good

Just took my new 180cm Airstyle NTs out today and they ripped the park. I'm 5'6''. Many people told me before I got them that having a ski past my head was death. I will never ride anything smaller. Bottom line: don't be afraid to buy skis big.

 
OK first I have to say, Big skis=good, Fischer skis=bad. But if you like them then I guess that's fine... Whatever works for you. And may others follow your example: 180+ is the only way to go.

175-180 is an ideal length for me for park but i love about a 185 for bc. im 5'10

Yeah, once you get around 6 feet though it just stops mattering...I mean almost nobody needs a 195 or whatever for normal riding. But below 174 is sketchy for anything but park.

I'm 6'4 and I ride 190 V-Pros all the time. They are just short of the top of my head, and I'd ride a 195 mid-fat twin if someone made a good one.

 
my airstyle nt's thoroughly suck balls in the park.....at least compared to my 4frnts, but if you like them, that's all good, and they aren't too big for you

yeah it did, he likes his 4frnts more in the park and he was telling the kid that 180 wasnt too small for him

 
it's stupid how people base the length of ski they buy on thier height. Do you think the ski knows how tall you are? no! it can only tell how much power you're putting in to it. and you can spin 180s just as easy as 160s so dont use that excuse neither. be a man, ride 180s.

im about 5 11 and i ride 181 madtrix and they are soo nice. i wouldn't get anything shorter. once you go big you won't go back

word, im about 6 1/2 ft and i ride the 181 salomon 1080's, i call em longboards. there so much funner to ski on.

living i nthe east, the only diff. i found by having a longer ski is that it makes your landing a hell of a lot more smooth. It's much harder to stomp big tricks off of big jumps with short skis, which is why skiboarders deserve a little more respect. The no poles thing is kind of sketch though.

Damn you guys definitely helped me out here too. I'm 5' 10'' and i'm riding 164 Line's. They are real fun to butter and jib on cuz they are so small but I'm definitely going bigger. I was looking into the Fujative's and i thought they would only come in 179's so i was debating on getting them or not. Obviously now that they have hit the market they are several lengths but i'm definitely going bigger. I'll probably try some 170's.
