Big ollie onto rails

i like jumps... but since there isnt much snow... there hasnt been much for jumps (well if you call those icy 10 footers, jumps?)... so i have been really trying to push myself on rails.. which is hard because i kinda feel like an old fart compared to everyone else out there... old tree fall hard..
anywho... i am having a really hard time with big ollies... where the park is set up with a tiny lip and what looks to me like an impossible gap... i am watching everyone from the chair and all the guys say that it "puts you right up there".. and bla bla... but the fear of catching my tips or not making it on is driving me crazy!
i have been working on doing flat ground ollies... and I can hit stuff that has a built up lip with a medium size ollie...but anyone got any other advice for working up to the bigger stuff?..

you could of just done it 100 times in the time it took to type that most of the time in the park world you have to just do it not much of a work up to it, if you can stop hesitating your park game will take off

You dont need a big of an ollie as it normally seems, jist keep tips up and do the rail. Dont hesitate just do it. Its normally alot easier then it looks

yea unless its set up urban style you really don't need to ollie that much. still definitely pop, as you should on any feature, but if the park crew is any good at their job at all then they set up the angles so that you wont catch your noses. they have insurance to worry about and shit.

if its urban style then its really just a matter of popping hard, and if you don't think you can make it go faster so you land further down on the rail.

if you are really that worried about hitting your tips please make sure someone gets video

If its really that big of a problem, just take quite a bit more speed than you would normally for the rail and just try to jump over it. If this is still to scary, then just jump off the lip but dont get on the rail. Try to get your skis up to the rail height though. Then do the jump over thing to assure yourself that you have enough pop.

i thought the same thing and was so surprised when i made it on the first try. just pop, you'll be fine and will feel great after

dude. lighter boots and skis and a lot of lower body gym work. maybe start running toe heel. and yoga. not just bc it loosens u up and helps u recover. it gets ur mojo going. so many hot girls. so many. makes me wanna rule the world just for them. i dunno wut to say. the swup was cool tho.

Go off the lip right next to the rail a few times, without actually hitting the rail. Once you feel comfortable, go off the lip at an angle and swing your skis over the top of the rail when you are above it. from there you can commit or just slide off safely
