Big Mountain Park

That's shitty that you broke your ankle this early in the season. At least you were doing something cool though, I know a lot of people that have had gnarly injuries until they told me how they got them.

Hope your shit didn't fully break but only for a few weeks. If you get a chance post those pictures that you have taken with the photographer.

Just click to my profile, and go to my pictures. Those are the one's I'm allowed to post up, the others are being sent out to a few magazines.

damn that sucks man. I was up there today (27th) and sessioned the park a few times. It was definately pretty icy, but i've seen it worse.

So, verdict after xrays, both the joints in my ankles are compressed, tendons and ligaments are stretched a bit, he said if I take my painkillers and anti-inflamatory pills, and take it easy on the feet, I should be rolling by the end of the week. Just as soon as the swelling goes down, I'm back on my boards. Lucky to say the least.

^jake good new man, shitty deal about the park being ice, big mtn went from dope ass powder to ice in like one day, im heading up to the mtn today if its soft engough and i have the balls im going to try my cork 5 on the last jump i was doing them before when it was a a step up but well see what happens, hope you get a speedy recovery man, ill try a switch 5 on the last table and say that was for jake

peace

Shit that was rad dude. I wish I still had a downhill bike. i broke the frame on mine. If it's nice, I might go ride friday night, maybe i'll see you there?

If Ryan and Lucas go up next friday, i'll probably film, so then i'd probably see you up there.

Hahahahahaha, that vid kicked ass. Lucas is completely out of his mind, and Logan is a funny little kid. That was brilliant.

I know this thread is about the park, but oh well. The 2006 Yeti Snowskate Jam just went down tonight. Max Konopatzke took the win in the expert division jam, and Max Barker won the expert best trick. Travis Adams won both the jam and best trick in the intermediate division. Ben Fagen won the best trick in the beginner division, and some other kid won the jam (i can't remember his name). Stellan Ryan-Coats won the under 10 jam. The setup was really sick, and many tricks were thrown down. If you didn't come watch, you missed out, but you should come next year.

And thanks to all those who helped out, there are too many people to name, and I would probably forget someone, so I'm not going to try.

i just got back from being out for six weeks, and the park wasn't as good as i thought it would be, i guess everything is ok, except that third table, i cased it the first time, and cleared the gap fine the second time, my shins killed after hitting it twice, and i was done with the park for that day, they need to figure that jump out, and any more news on the half pipe, it looks like they have enough snow

Not everyone can slide rails man, don't rag on the kid. I remember when we were all learning and sucked. Keep that in the back of your mind. Don't get too high and mighty, you know?

Yup. Not gonna change. I talked to Jade, and he took it all like I was bashing his work. Then I pointed out that he's lazy..and doesn't like to rake snow. I don't like him anymore. Haha. Crybaby..

yeah pipe was in pretty good shape today. it was soft and didnt have those holes along the right wall of that little lump going all the way down . it was just super slow because of the raina dn wet snow

since the season is ending this sunday and the mtn has more snow right now, then they did all of last year, me and my buds were thinking about hiking to the park. My question is, do you think big mountain will destroy their jumps when the season ends, i know they will probably take out the rails, but they should at least leave the jumps. If anyone wants to come message me.

Big Mtn will destroy the jumps, James. No question. Big liablility risk if they dont. However, they will probably destroy the takeoffs only, so we probably rebuild them if we wanted. Another possiblity is building a jump on the jump hill.

Why did they even build a pipe this year? It doesn't seem that they took care of it and it was only open for a month. Probably a lot of money that went in to it that could of been spent on more technical accesories for the park, like a wall or a s rail.

thats gay they will destroy the jumps, we should make a make a big one if we do end up hiking, like bigger then any of what they had this year.

What I really want to do is turn the third "table" into a massive step up. It will require a hell of a lot of work, and a crew of about 6 or 7 to get done, but it can be done.

i looked at that possibility sunday, and it wouldn't even be massive if it were built, unless you spent 100 hours building up the part to step up on to
