Big mountain free style boots

I am looking at a couple different boot options for this year but am having a hard time finding good info on them.. Any have any experience with these? Yes I know.. go to an experienced boot fitter and try them on.

Dalbello Cabrio 120/130

Dalbello Panterra 120/130

K2 diverge SC

All three are pretty different fits and most certainly won’t all fit you. I would honestly start with a boot fitter to at least find out which shapes will work and then if you want to look at reviews you at least know the boot you are looking at may be an option.

Since you already pointed out the obvious go to a bootfitter and let them fit the correct boot to your foot by looking at length, width, ankle mobility, skier ability, arch height, foot shape, and a million other things that you cant do at home, il save you that lecture. But seriously, go to a bootfitter please. You wont regret it.

To actually answer your question- Theres a couple things that I can answer off the bat. The Cabrio and Diverge are both three piece boots. They have a different flex pattern than 2 piece (overlap) boot designs. Its possible to get a good performance out of both of them, and yes some people prefer the flex of the 3 piece over the 2 piece, but the decision should be made by what boot the bootfitter puts your foot in. Take a look at this thread for more info on 2 vs 3 piece: https://www.newschoolers.com/forum/thread/936221/POLL--OVERLAP-OR-CABRIO-BOOTS

Another thing id like to point out- how much do you tour? Out of the three boots you listed, the k2 diverge SC is the only boot with tech inserts, which is very important if you see yourself getting a touring setup or upgrading to CAST at some point. (hint- you will regret not having tech inserts sometime in the next 10 years). The Dalbello Cabrio Free is Dalbello's hybrid version of a Cabrio.

The boot that I use is the Tecnica Cochise 120/130. I love it, but I also saw a bootfitter and will only recommend it to someone whose bootfitter also recommended it to them.

Appreciate the replies. I have had a few pairs of Full Tilt boots in the past along with a couple different two-piece boots. always preferred the feel of the three-piece boots.

I ordered a pair of the Cabrio 120LV and Panterra 120 for try on purposes and the new liner of the Cabrio feels substantially thinner than the liner of the Panterra but other than that it is hard to tell the difference. The flex feels pretty similar.

Also, The reason i threw the SC boots in there was the flex of 120 with intuition wrap liner liner. I don't have a touring set up yet but have been pondering a pair of the Duke PTs on new set of sticks.

I should also preface that i live in Ohio so dont have well expirence boot fitters near by.. I spend a few weeks in the mountains each season and by the time I am out it is a pain to track down the correct boot in my size..

Anyone have expirence with

Salomon Shift pro 130

Atomic Hawx xtb 120
