BIG mountain-- Best Skis?

I know most of you are dirty jib-rats haha jus playin

But I know some of you ski big mountain... what skis do you like for skiing big mountain post up your ski and reason you like it....

I think that rossi bandit b4's are sweet. I'm not even sure if that's the name.

'Duran Duran bought Armada, Armada bought Microsoft, Microsoft bought MSP and AOL, AOL owns Time4 which owns the MountainSportsMedia which owns SKi, Skiing and RIP Freeze... so Armada now owns McDonalds and Coke.

next years b4s are pretty sick i skiied them about 2 weeks ago and liked them ...didnt have a chance to ski them big mountain though

b4s are dope if you don't want a twin tip. there are tons of sick big mtn twins out there, but many are alot different. do you prefer a stiffer ski? how much pow will be around on the big mtn lines you ski?? all these questions will help narrow your search down.

off the top of my head, some of the sickest big mtn twins available now and in the fall are the seth pistol, seth vicious, armada ANT, prophet 100 & 130, 4frnt msp, 4frnt VCT, etc etc etc

yes, the supermodel is exactly like the msp, only it has an extra layer in it's construction to make it stiffer

I dig Line for big mountain. This year I rocked the 182 Mothership Ti. Next year I'm rockin the Prophet 130. The Prophet 100 kills the big mountain too.

^true. i love my made'ns, but they are a bit soft for most big mtn riders...ideal in pow though and a sick park ski to boot

I heart 4frnt MSP 187s...stiff enough to hold their own in avie debris and stomp cliffs, but light enough to toss around in the part too. They're sick.

everything that has been metioned is great but you might want to narrow it down a little bit more

yo... i wanted to purchase the Prophet 100s this summer.. anyone ridden them.. its going to be my all mtn ski.. how sick are they ;)?

yeah seth pistol are sick but to soft in tail for new zealand big mountain generally any difference between seth vicous and seth pistol?

seth vicious is a bit stiffer in the tail and has a "progressive sidecut"...sick sick ski

man i love my Moship Ti's Big Mt, i was talking to the owner of Glacier ski shop and he was saying after ridding all of next years prophets that they don't compairs to last years Moship Ti's when it comes to Big Mt capiblity he noted alot had to do with how stiff the Moships Ti's are Compaired to the prophet but don't get me wrong the prophet would own in the powder

Find used or buy new a pair of Igneous Fats. They run about $1000 for a new pair now, but they are easily some of the best big mountain ski ever produced. They used to run between $600-750.

www.igneousskis.com

they died a few years ago, but not you can get some skis made for a whole lot of $$$.

Other than that, the seth pistol/viscous, maybe Gotama and explosives, atomic sugar daddies, prophets, MSP, B4, are all good. AK madiens are a little on the soft side for big mountain unless all you skied was untracked pow. Another awesome ski is the bandit XXXX if you can find it. Huge, fat, and stiff. Only a few of these around. I think they are 198 cm. They are what Hugo Harrison and the other rossi big mountain guys skied on. They are nuts.

Also, maybe check out the Bro models. Super light and suppose to be awesome. www.pmgearusa.com

I use classic pistols mounted a fair distance back of most people for big mountain. Next year's prophet 100 has been hailed by experienced Line insiders as the best ski the company has ever made, period. I'd give it some consideration, along with the ANT if you want to go above 190cm.

i've got 188 k2 axis xp's, pretty stiff, and they kill it crud. They used to be my pow skis, thought they're pretty thin compared to skis that have come out in the last 2 years. Also a lot of length up front if your used to skiing closer to a center mount, oh, and they're super fast when you release them from a turn.

^haha i thought i was going to have to bring those up, a little skinny these days but sick for straight lining. The only other all-mtn ski I've ridden is the mo'ship TI and it dominates in the trees. I'm liking the B4 or the sugar daddy for next year maybe the vicious too cause I'm hearing good things.

I can't tolerate intolerant people!

factoin thirteens are sick, and at 193cm u cant go wrong. i saw some B4s up at whis and they were lookin pretty large aswell. basicly if your really a big person 190+ all the way

dont get it twisted

yeah im a smaller guy i only weigh 155, i skied the b squads though and they are by far one of the burliest skis made, also the nordica blowers are quite a bit softer but it is a super fun ski, this season i think ill be on the nordicas, scratch bc,s and possibly b-squads or gotams, pray for snow !!!!

The ANT is the ultimate big mountain tool, i have never been on a more powerful aggressive ski, you may be a bit light for it though. I suggest tha 187, VCT 182, Gotama, or Jp vs Ju

B-squads, LP XXL's, and that is all i have to say haha.

I have a pair of 189 squads they destroy everything in every condition they have become my everyday ski.

I am getting a pair of XXL's but they only come in a 194 so i'm thinkin this will be more of a powder softer snow ski for me.

this years big daddy's look tempting as well at 125 under foot

Here are the big mountain skis that we european rippers rave about...

probably irrelevant, coz most of em dont ship over there, but i thought you'd like to know how we do it over here...

I can't believe nobody's mentioned the Mojo 103. That ski will totally dominate anything you ride it through....except moguls or park jumps. So those, B-Squads, and LP's would be at the top of my list. Another ski to consider that hasn't been mentioned would be the Mojo 105, those seem like they would be pretty fun if you want a twin.

yeah i think im going to be riding the b-squads for big mtn comps this year, maybe my bc's too, i know they are lighter this season but it seems like they got a little bit softer
