Big Mountain 2006-parks/pow/discussion

hehe, yea, park was mediocore thats for sure. Nothing changed from last weekend at all. Kind of sad. I hurt my thumb on the jump :(. You would think over the course of the week they could at least make a new feature or something, fuck hopefully when we get more snow they get some more motivation.

No kidding. Inspiration is my favorite fucking run on that mountain. There are just jibs everywwhere. There is a really sick gap jump there right now on that cornice right when u take the turn to head towards easy street. If you hit it with enough speed, you gap that flat part and land on the steep tranny. Its mad fun. There is alot of access to good powder runs off that run too if u look closely, lets just say thats an NS Secret. :)

ther'es also that wall that sends you into the powder where there aren't many trees. we were all hitting that and the first kid who hit it went soo big i thought he was going to land in the lake seriously he did a backflip and was fo high above the air. then i went down and hit it and backflipped it and looked down and there was still a shitload of air after my rotation and i landed backseat and my left ski came off and i kept sliding and was like 30 feet from my ski but luckily someone was up there. ha ha yeah it was fun.

it looks like they have a bunch of new shit set up in the park right now, from what i can see on the webcam. anyone know anything? its kinda hard to see though so i may be completely wrong

at least they have a new jump, but they need learn how to fucking make REAL tables. none of this step-down shit. i want some nice, lippy tables.

Huh, I didn't see anything new today, but I only saw the park from chair 1, so I easily could have missed something.

yeah i heard about that... i havent been over to the park for like over a week, but i heard its pretty big drop but the landing is way to close, and super small so basically if u were going at the exact mph needed it might be nice.... but yeah u all should spend ur time in the park cuz thats wheres it at....hahaha....

I will point out that I landed perfectly on that step down and it hurt like a bitch today. I hate icy flat landings. I need to go ski someplace else for a while...

Thats what I meant by skiing someplace else, which I accomplished today with my demo Prophet 100s from The White Room. Tomarrow will be epic.

It was snowing all day I was there today. :)

The canyon/ridge was sick as hell.

I experienced the step down jump and lol it was pretty wack, but fun i guess. To scary to do any tricks off of cause landing seemed small, straight airs for me hehe. I like the box and rails though, they are pretty fun, its cool how they have shit in a long line, that is a plus. There is alot of new snow though inbounds too if you look closely. That run A thousand turns off of big ravine is really fun right now, jibs and powder pillows all over the wall.

There is no need for the park at all for the past week, if you know where to go you can get some nice untouched pow under you.

Today was really sick. Everything is super soft right now, alot of fresh snow. It was raining/sleet at the bottom of the mountain towards the end of the day but it wasnt bad, it was snowing hard when i left the mountain.. The snow was a bit heavy, but im not complaining. I dropped some nice cliffs today off of schmidts chute. Elkweed is really sick right now too. There is alot of people up there now , so get up there early and get a good parking spot heh.

If you do have the bug to hit a good jump, check out the new 2nd jump in the park. It is a very fun early season jump, and I throughly enjoyed hitting it today. And I think we hit the Rim about 4 times in a row today. Sick stuff.

Just got back from another kick ass powder day. I rode with a good friend today who I was really happy to spend time with so that was nice. I hit east rim a couple times today and was just amazed at how much coverage is there. I never hit a single rock, it was so nice, that run is really rocky too so we are lucky to have insane coverage right now. There were a shit ton of peeps up there today, but honestly the lines werent that bad. That second jump in the park did look pretty good, i was kind of tired and felt like giving my legs a rest and didnt hit the jumps today. The lip did seem nice, but the landing seemed a bit hard. The waterfall hit off of Momentum was pretty good today.

I got alot of great pow runs once again today. Big mountain is the shit.

What do you mean out? Did it break down?

And Dave, did you go to the "nightriders" comp thing tonight?

I decided not to ski today due to my leg hurting and just chilling taking care of shit at home. I hope to be there for the rail jam I believe.

yeah apparently there was a power surge of some kind. it was down for a while but opened up at like 1 30. it ended up getting pretty nice and there were some DOPE illusions or whatever towards blacktail. made it look like the mtns were just cliffs i dunno it was sick tho.

All the little kids from the freestyle team entered pro. Funny stuff. And I will be up for the rail jam tomarrow. The course will be a bit of fun, but I think we will see some gnarly wrecks until people figure out the speed for the S-rail.

I will cut your board in half if I see any more crap about this. Hellroaring opened today, to the traverse at least.

hey man, what can i say park is just where its at.... but on a side note-yeah that was so lame that they opened the basin, my own private stash all untouched so sad..... gone.... so howd the rail jam go tonite?

Hellroaring was insane few days ago and still is but don't get too tempted by powder fields for the sake of hiking in deep shit.

I took the traverse out of there today, got some good snow on Grey's Golf course. It was pretty foggy up there today, but there were hardly any people. I hit the canyon ridge and dropped into the backside as well as took the hellroaring traverse twice which is pretty gnar but not to bad. The park was actually groomed today which was nice and the first jump was sick. The weather has been pretty cold up there the last few days with not much snow.

I think now since there are so many NSers riding the Big Mountain we should have a code. If you see someone who looks like hes a NSer say this "Excuse me sir, but are you a polar bear?" If you are an NSer and someone asks that then just talk to them. Because i think its going to be funny as hell when im going up to random skiers going "Hey are you a polar bear?"

le sigh, dont derail the thread. lol Enough with the password talk, just grow some balls and ask what ur ns name or if they even know about NS, it seems like we should have alot more peeps here.
