i think over the summer , since ther eis no skiing, everyone here at newschoolers.com (who feels like doing this) should make a segment of themselves doing there summer sports and send it in to this site, and then when harvey gets all theses vids he compiles them to make a nice long video featuring the likes of the ns members, the segments could be you or you and friends and however long you want and if you want you can put music in them, anyways, if not harvey then some1 good at that stuff on this site can do it, and then make it downloadable on this site, although yes it might be around 600 megabytes but who cares, it would be cool to see everyone in one movie, and a variety of sports liek sk8ing - inlining- trampoline - whatever (mountain biking?)

Go to like best buy or circuit city and buy the 350$ Sony Hi8 Cam. only if i had a camcorder...i would send fotty of my friend trailing up shit on his mounatin bike and fotty of me and my other friend on the trampoline bustin out carzy shit.

 
Freestyle walking like jumping off benches and doing flips and running up a wall and doing a backflip..shit like that, some kids got arrested for it, I saw it on MTV back when that was a cool station in like 95

i think i will get started on my stuff pretty soon, just got ot organize a filmer, hey my friend is saving for a digi camera, oh yeah byt he way that footy from my site of snowskating was done on a old 8mm, one of the first sony handicam, i like it though, and my friend has a video capture card, anwyas, when my friend has a digi cam i will be sure to give some vids to this site

doesn't have to be 600MB. You can compress it to MPEG format and get about 10MB/minute of video or DIVX which is even smaller.

I could send in some good mountain biking footage

 
Yeah, DivX... if enough people send in all their footy, I'll put it on CD and ship them out for the cost of the CD... I think it would be cool to see what everyone else is doing all summer.. so send in ANYTHING!

This sounds like a great idea, I would definitely suggest DivX that way you could get two hours of reasonably high quality video onto one cd but i don’t think you’ll want to make the movie that long anyway. The only problem is that people that take the footage would have to send it in in DivX, or some other high quality compression format that Matt’s or who ever is editing its editing program can read. Because uncompressed video captured through a firewire from a DV camcorder is about 250 megs per minute and if you send it in in crappy quality it would be that way in the vid. Anyways I’ll be willing to provide some windsurfing and maybe some kayaking and surfing footage and help out with the editing and compression if it’s needed.

its a good idea and all, but it would take way to long to download, i think you should make it like, an hour or something (if you get that much) and then just put it onto some tapes and take orders and sell it for like, 5/10 bucks, but thats just what i think

 
You want to know what i will try for the move. I saw this on a Wakeboarding movie called detention. Somebody put on two waterskis and did a backflip over the wake with the skis on.

they'd fall off if I tried that. I keep the skis on loose so when I fall I don't hit em with my face or anything. It's a real great way to stay in shape for the next season. Try it if you have the resources.

 
Yeah, that tape quality issue is a really good point... but to make sure that the quality is really good, it would probably be best if everyone sent in VHS so that I can just encode them here. That way we don't have to transfer 300 meg files or anything... could work! If not, maybe the thing won't be perfect quality.. either way, it'll be cool.

Matt, I have a kickass video editing setup and t-3 connection to the net so if you need any help, give me a holler. We could put the video on CD in MPG format because CD's are $0.10 each. Add $0.55 for postage and that is much cheaper than a video tape.

 
well all you have to do is use kids water skis with to tight of bindings and squeeze your foot into it, it will work

okj this is awesome me and my friends do all that jacklass shit please make that!!!! put it on cds its so cheap. and you could prob get ads since so many people come to this site i come like every day or so so you get like 10000 people a day or something. you should put a counter.

Here's a good stat... from Novomber 1st 2000 to April 1st, 2001, there were 512,000 hits. Obviously that's not half a million different people, but it's still a cool stat.
