ok well first things first... there were 3 people in the pro devision 1st place was darren clark (again) with a 900 saftey, 2nd was gordon hansen with a switch cork 900 tail which he almost stomped, then my cork 7, it was still un orginised, the pro division had to wait an hour and a half for their first run, it was retarded but the tricks were there now all we need is the people

that sounds like some hucked shit.

What the fuck do you expect? It's like leaving a crackhead in a room full of crack, you know what's gonna happen.

naw man it was actually huge and not hucked at all, the table was probably about 50 feet and on gordo's switch cork he over shot the landing, and darren's 900 was just super smooth, no hucking

the difference between a 50 footer in the maritimes and a real 50 footer is very simple. about 25 feet.

What the fuck do you expect? It's like leaving a crackhead in a room full of crack, you know what's gonna happen.

shaun u gotta quit lippin people for doing shit over a 45 foot table, hucking is an opinion and it does take alot of balls to do that kinda stuff even if u dont like it dont say anything

'The Ski Out Terrain Park is definitely the most happenin' Park around. Said to be, 'the most progressive Terrain Park' in New Brunswick. It's packed with everything from huge hits to 'new school' railslides!'

i dont know about parks at martock cause ive only been to wentworth but our table at crabbe mesures 55 feet now from behind then jump to the begining of the landing

yeah boys it was a new table we got him to regroom it and fix er all up, made it a hell of a lot bigger and steeper, and yeah there wasn't a great turn out,but that's not poley's fault. boys comps are comps, they are fun and games, nothin serious just to have a good time so if one isn't that great the people there make it great so just giver

a lot of peope were stuck in halifax,or skiing powder at wentworth.

What the fuck do you expect? It's like leaving a crackhead in a room full of crack, you know what's gonna happen.

Actually well hucking isn't goin away at all...you hear all about how the pros are like ya hucking is stupid yet u begin to see switch cork 10's and 12's now??? Come on ya it maybe over a 60ft table or bigger, but what the F*ck they looked hucked as well...Big difference I think if it looks controled or smooth, you can spin lots and flip lots and it still look stylie for sure, hence the pros...My mad Props go out to Gordan Hanson who has been tryin hard to improve and WOW if saw his photo by photo of his switch cork 9 blunt/tail grab attempt in there you would be amazed and would be practicing for the Orage Big Air, this kid is coming out of his shell.

Ok to set the misconception straight...the jump that the guys use in the usopen big air is an 85 foot channel gap..which is why they can float switch 10s. I've been at the US Open and I've been at east coast Big Air events..they don't compare. Gordon didn't mean to throw a switch 9..he was trying a 540 and got out of control. The plain and simple fact is that everyone is complaining about hucks...I've been in this sport along time and noone can tell me they like hucking because there is such a high risk of a crash...floaty and stylee shit just feels dope and when you watch an actual pro slopestyle the guys are floating slow smooth rotations..there are 2 big pro big airs left (US Open out of traditioin and the WSI)..big airs are dead..they don't really prove who can ski. Events like slopestyle and pipe force riders to link consecutive skills...this is where the sport is going, not big air. Big airs are crowd pleasers not athlete pleasers. Keep the hucking down...I don't care what anyone on here says, hucks look stupid and out of control and they will never get the respect that style will get. Check out Royality...the best ski flick ever made...there isn't a rotation over a 5 in the whole thing. 'Spin to win is dead'..it's time for the east to catch on and realize this. We gotta catch up at some point, and it is attitudes who stiill hold on to hucks and BIg Fucking Airs that kill our scene.....shit!

i couldn't agree more, id much rather see a smooth swich unnatural 3 then a swich 9 it just more fun to do, way more stylish and creative

~Why am I fighting to live if I'm just living to fight, Why am I trying to see when there ain't nothing in site, Why am I trying to give if no one gives me a try, Why am I dieing to live if I'm just living to die.~

i dont understand how u can say its killing the scene cause the scene is building right now, think about the year before and the year before and the year before that and u could count the number of twin tips on the east coast on the palm of one hand, now theres tons of guys getting into it around here, i do agree that shit should be slow and stylie and controled but we need to have a good balance and regocnize some harder shit thats being thrown down

'The Ski Out Terrain Park is definitely the most happenin' Park around. Said to be, 'the most progressive Terrain Park' in New Brunswick. It's packed with everything from huge hits to 'new school' railslides!'

all i have to say is that i'd personally like to see more respect given to some one that can do 3s, unaturel 3s, switch3s and unnaturel switch 3s all stylish with grabs than to someone who can do a 900 or cork 7. if there was a skier out here that could do all 3s, i'd say he was the best skier because those tricks show how good a person is technically. i also believe that if someone's doing a trick and there's no grab, there's no point in doing it.

What the fuck do you expect? It's like leaving a crackhead in a room full of crack, you know what's gonna happen.

yeah i totally agree all the shit should be thrown with a grab, and yeah i agree with the switch unnatural 3 thing but not in a big air, a switch cork 900 should and would destroy it, but if it was thrown in a slopestyle well yah a lot more style to it more solid of a run

shaun what about someone that can throw nice cork 7s and can throw nice switch unatch 3s both with grabs, dont label people

Fuck Dylan...what the hell...I swear you hold the record for pissing the most people off. Hucking holds our scene back...maybe you misunderstood me. Yeah it's dope to have tons of people with twins on but if we're hucking then what are you teaching them...bad habits. Just becausse people have twin tips doesn't mean they are apart of our sport or culture..our scene is about 2 years behind some of the others and it's beacuse of attitides like yours. I'm not saying that I don't give props to cork 7...I have complete respect for any trick if it's done with style (especially a cork 7 or 9s ..whatever)...I just don't want to see guys trying to say hucks are cool and should have respect because they don't...hucks are dangerous, ugly, and most of all gay.

.........to add to Emberly's good point, it is embarrassing to see so many kids on twintips who can barely even ski when they're outside of the park. Like John said, the sport isn't all about throwing out your balls at big airs, it is about the total package (all around skiing, park, pipe etc..) Support the scene by setting an example for the younger folk to build on. If they see crazy ass spins winning comps over style stuff how will the next generation ever break out of the 'spin to win' habit? Now that I've said that it wasn't meant to criticize or rag on anyone it's just how I see the scene right now so don't start crying about it....

After reading that small book, I really don't have much to add that hasn't been said. I see where both sides are coming from. I think the best posts came from Wu, he nailed it with where our sport is going and where it should go. We are behind, we always have been. Simply put, gonna drop another Royalty plug, for ANYONE who hasn't seen this movie, get it. Study it. Make it your bible.

Skiing in the park is like going to the bars at night, it's a constant testosterone (spelling?) competition of males. The guy who can throw the switch cork 1600 can hold his head up higher in the lodge than the guy who has a stylish switch un-natural 3 liu kang...simply put...talk is cheap. I've heard nothing but 'style' this and 'style' that but what gets filmed, and thrown when the camera is out? HUCKS...5 year old hucks like barani's and flairs...

If your the best rider at your hill, throw the switch unnatural 5's...be a leader

good too se a real post on our forum for once...

this is shit to fuel the rest of the year big time..

lets see everyone whos talkin at the final comps this year...

POLEY MAR 6

MARTOCK MAR 7

CRABBE MAR 13 and 14

WENTWORTH MAR 20

MARTOCK MAR 28

CRABBE APR 3

the top two me, wu and robbie will miss but are going too the rest including crabbes comps. ive heard alot about crabbe this yr.

DYLAN, are you talkin about big hit 2 at POley last sat?? i thought you were taking the freeski course a twentworht??

i skied Poley on Tuesday night, and the biug hit table was improved slightly, but still only 30-35 ft.

everyone should remember that the crabbe boys are respected skiers in a big way. you guys have thrown down for yrs up there, and have great skiers. im talkin about the guys how can ski and jib. thats what makes a skier..

all this about hucks istrue..but hey do what you like cause youll excel at that. everyone who gets repect around our scene probley deserves it. Look at Duncan E. i went to marble with him in Feb. and saw a duncan we never seee here. but i always here ' oh duncan doesnt push at all'..bull hit. the dude skis harder that anyonw and can grab all his tricks-pipe or table. he is not focused on a 1080, he excels at what he does...rips and style.

so once again if you like big rotation do it! it is not easy and i repect it if it is done clean.

but take WU advise

if one of the rotations like a 9 around here was tried at a real table - 60 plus ft. it would be death.

ill be watch john throw super smooth 7's at Mammoth with the same rotation speed that he uses on his threes. thats what it is all about.

cheers,

jeff

the real east starts here

Wow this really started a big contraversy on something...My post, I didn't intend to say hucking was cool, but don't forget the bigger the jump the bigger the trick and come on if your doing a switch 1260 u have to wind up a lil to get the rotation off is kinda what I mean...I said look at the pros they are in control and stylie when they throw down, not out of control and just ripping out a trick they are un-sure if they can do...Hey I'll be the first to say that I have hucked many times, why not, when I know that it needs to be done to win a comp then sometimes you need to do spin to win...Yes I have agreed with Wu and Chappy and well YES Royalty is the best movie of all time and its my favourite one.

I think its just hard for us to realize this cause every year a pro will throw something crazy out and we willl try to mimick him/her somehow...Okay maybe Gordo knew he could try a switch cork 5, so he stepped it up got the ballz and tried a switch cork 9, you have to admit thats a big trick even if it is over a 40ft table, the kid knew he had to go big to do it.

You know what I think would be awesome to try in these next up and coming comps, is have a limit on your rotations??? Lets say up to 7's, actually I'd like to see only to a 5 or if u want to get real anal, try Switch only on take offs??? Then we'll see really who can ski and who has the control and style in which where the sport is goin.

I'm sure I'll be back to reply more to this...this site should have some sort of viewer that we can see the posts made and read off of them, well unless ur like me and its just the drugs....hahaha....1

wu, i dont mean like actually twin tips i was tlaking about people doing tricks and what not, BASSICALLY THIS THING HAS GOTTEN WAY OUTTA CONTROL, I JUST LIKE TO SKI AND FROM NOW ON IAM GOING TO SHUT UP

wow.....im not tryin to lip u guys ehre.....but i just ski...i dont sit on a computer and talk about stuff that problly has nothing to do with anything...my advice is to stop caring soo much

we have to care because if no one cared than there would be no comps and then there would be no scene

This is Gordon here and for the final pword in this forum just to top everything off and tell thing right from wrong. I'd first like to point the obvious of it not being any kind of huck. Second i would like to add in that it wasnt some spontanious thing, ive done them three million times which shows that i have the sence of it. Third i WAS going for a switch corc 540 but this is where your wrong, it didnt turn disasterious from there, it wasnt turning out of control when i was going through the rotation, if you see the clip some time, it shows that i spot my landing and i slow my rotation down to see where the landing is, and i saw that i still had massive air, and was still in corc, so i simply tucked my shoulder down and went with the flow of more rotation. Finally i say that a unnatural switch corc 900 tail isnt something to hold on your shoulders about its just a trick, and whats the deal, why do you people lip?? Im gonna finnish this off by watch it then talk your shit...
