Big getboards.com problems

so my brother ordered this years SFBs with 4FRNT bindings. he gets called and told that his skis have shipped. two weeks later he gets called again and get boards is like "yeah we want to mount your ski, what size is your boot". This is really bad business. He is also owed a store credit of 25 dollars and get boards says they will just throw in a beanie worth that much and my brother agrees. So anyways the skis finally show up. No beanie to be found, but most of all the skis are jacked up. If you werent aware, 4FRNT says on the getboards.com website that they will include up to a 140mm ski brake to fit skis with alot of width. So what does get boards.com do?...they install a ski brake that is too small and now the skis show up fresh out of the box with gouged up sidewalls where the brakes sit. There is even some delam on the top sheet of one ski where the brake was rubbing. Holy shit batman...are these people this clueless with skis?

so what would you guys demand for resolve in a situation such as this?

Free replacement skis, bindings & beanie. This is straight up ridiculous, totally bad business.

Send them an email or even better, call them up and explain. Don't take any shit from them. If they try to wriggle their way out of it, get serious.
 
I feel like I should email lineskis.com as well to let them know that they are jacking up their skis and then sending them out to customers...bad business for everyone.
 
yeah he will...he's waiting to see what their first response is as it better be a good one. he even emailed them pictures of the damaged sidewalls. all four sidewalls are damaged.
 
i will never buy from them now. e mail line talk and email the shit out of them tell the give you your money back including your money from the store credit.

 
If they don't take your emails seriously, call them up. It's the best way to go, then they know you actually mean business. Make sure you get the point across, tell them that you expect them to take action and do something about it.
 
I'd take some legal action just to show them you're not fuckin around. Maybe get a lawsuit goin and set getboards straight because it sounds like they fuck everyone over. Plus their prices are way inflated it seems like.
 
There should be a sticky for "I got fucked over by getboards what should i do" hahah....it happens sooo much.
 
i don't know why people keep ordering from this place... they straight up suck! i stopped ordering from them 2 years ago... after multiple fuck-ups of course.
 
I ordered skis and bindings from there, got here in 3 days... I also ordered on Sunday night. It sounds like some people have great experiences, like I have had, or just completely shitty ones. Sucks man, but you can still ride them yea? It'll get worked out
 
umm definitely free skis, free bindings, NO mount, $25 bucks unless you realllllly want a beanie, and free overnight shipping considering how long ago you should've had you shit. I dont mind when shops forget an order or take a long time or something every once in a while, but actually messing up skis and still sending them to someone? that's insane. I'm not saying anything against getboards, but the individual who put those skis in the box is a dirt bag.
 
when they didnt have the skis i wanted they offered me any other ski they had in stock for $200, i got made'ns, im a happy cutomer.
 
They do beat prices though.

I had an order from them go from $700 down to $300. The only reason I ordered from them is because they were the only online shop who stocked Siver pants in my size and colour. Colorado Freeskier had some for $90, but they didn't ship to Canada. Obviously, the guys at Getboards didn't read CFS's FAQ's, so I still got one hell of a deal.

But I do agree with you. They're not a very good shop (not even close, actually). They gave me a bogus tracking number, and customer service was seriously like a bunch of teenagers. I wouldn't recommend buying from them,; the only reason I did was out of desperation.
 
God getboards sucks. You have to buy from a place like Jibij. My bro. pre-ordered a pair of Ninthward MIPs from there, and they ended up not having 9thward in stock for some reason, I guess a screw up at the 9 factory. anyway, after a couple months they still didn't have them, so my brother emailed them and they gave him $50 off a pair of invaders, plus a free hat and like 50 stickers, and they shipped in I think 3 days.
 
I still don't know why anyone orders from getboards. The only good thing about them in like 4 years was right when the PEs came up they fucked up some kid's order and sent him Seth Pistols instead.
 
well, not every place is perfect, tramdock screwed up my order this year. They sent me the wrong skis, so i called them up and sent them back. I expected them to give me some sort of compensation, but im still waiting for the correct skis (2 weeks from when i should have gotten them) and they didnt upgrade shipping or anything. if there isnt some extra shit packed in the box with them, i'm going to be disappointed.
 
i ordered from getboards once, got thalls for 200 and they came in 2 days, cross country. it was legit, about the only legit sales time i've ever heard of from getboards
 
word and dont let them touch your skis for a mount....i dont know if i will ever buy from these guys again..
 
we need to boycott that website so that they'll go out of business and stop screwing us all over. i should make a thread about this and hopefully it will get stickied. maybe i will
 
Yea I did jibij and my stuff hasnt arrivied yet but I couldnt be happier with the ordering process. Josh answered all my questions and was extremly helpfull. Hopefully your situation works out. I personally wouldnt touch get boards with a ten foot pole.
 
Don't boycott shit...take advantage of their fuck ups......Bottomline, they are a large company and if you call and press the issue they should give you your shit nearly free. That's junk, I don't know why I see threads from people getting jacked from legit online or storefront businesses. When youi buy from any of these places the skis should come warrantied....if not just making a scene is usually enough, if that doesn't work just keep hitting 'em and causing an issue, they'll pay attention eventually. Fuck....stop talking to us and start gameplanning on them.
 
^^^^ yah really i almost like it when a shop screws up, they end up giving me tons of free stuff because theyre so sorry. Theres a shop in my town that is a good shop but they always screw up on me, each time they feel bad for all of the issues and give me more stuff
 
i bought a pair of poles from them last year, and they were suppose to come with a free subscription to freeskier, i waited like a month and a half, finally got my poles... but no coupon, no letter saying anything about the mag sub, and too this day i havent heard anything about it
 
I bought skis and bindings from them ages ago when they first opened. Even then I was disappointed. They just threw the bindings in a box with no protection or padding, both bindings arrived broken in numerous places and they refused to replace them. I never got the skis and filed a complaint with my CC company.

I have also filed complaints with the BBB regarding getboards. If they don't get their shit together they won't be around much longer :: (

Plus their site sucks for an online storefront, and they have not changed it since they opened.
 
I got Seth's from them for 200 bucks, so I've had a good experience. They are so hit or miss though. They have an F on the BBB website.

Yeah, they have done a lot of shady shit.

I have ordered from them a bunch with no problems, but will never do so again. They mess up enough already and when they do they seem to act like a bitch about it.

I would consider filling a claim with the BBB and seeing if you can get getboards to work with them.

If not maybe just return everything and be done with it. Sounds pretty ridiculous.
 
although this at least seems like a descent reply. Seems like a lot of times when people have issues they hardly even get responses back.....
