Big gaps

k this might seem like a dumb question but why is it whenever someone hits a huge jump they never straight air it, they akways do something crazy

sometimes people straight air them in movies, but theyre usually edited out if theres cooler tricks

sometimes i like straight airs better, it emphasize the size of the gap

sometimes they just dont show the first hit if it's a straight air or just a 3 or something..

but honestly, on the jumps as big as they are in big movies, a lot of times the pros dont do straight airs. probably half the time because it's a waste of time, and the other half because it's actually way scarier to straight air a really heavy jump than to spin it sometimes

yeah i mean even my ugliest 3 ever was definitely better looking and calmer than some of the straight airs ive done over bigger jumps. just looking at the landing the whole time is sometimes a pain
