Big Boulder status?

Anyone know the current setup for jumps? I see 2 medium jumps on their

site but no photos or anything. How big are medium jumps anyways? 30

feet? All info is appreciated

Dude, I was at Boulder last weekend and they had two parks. The one on the right has two 10-15 foot jumps. Also a barrel at the top, and lots of boxes and rails. Then there is another park on the right with two 25-30 ft jumps and some more rails.

I was at boulder on saturday, and just the fact that they were open made everyone happy. everything in love park was a bit bigger, 25 ish foot jumps. the barrel in the other park was a lot of fun, it just died later on in the day. goin back tomorrow = ]

i was up for college night tonigt n it was pretty sick n the snow was pretty nice...its deff worth the trip if thats what ur wondering...n if u can/if ur in college go on wed night n bring ur college id its only $10

Looks like they are continuing to blow big boulder Yay!!!!!!!!! - so no big jumps yet......

What that means, is that the jumps are goin to be so nice when they do build. the more they blow the more they can shape. they are saying they have 58-72 inch base now. wow just wow

The jump line is huge in a semi step up style. there are snow sculptures in the plaza. and yeah well, I guarantee they still have the biggest and the most stuff on the east ..

Sorry for whoring this thread but since there are so few skiers riding there that post, I sort of feel like it is my obligation to get the word out for those who want/need a quality park in our region. The following is a quote from another message board about yesterday...

"Boulder is going off right now. I was there for the Rome rail jam and the level of riding was crazy. There were kids flipping onto the rail off the butter box and so many sick tricks. I wasnt expecting that big of a set up, it was kind of like the Trans Am, which is coming in january. Free hotdogs and redbull, and I got a ton of stuff at the product toss.

And then Boulder Park, I think thats the biggest its been ever. Correct me if i'm wrong but those jumps were bigger than anything they've had last year. Tons of skiers spinning 5's and 7's off the last jump, which is the biggest. Overall, Boulder is sick. "

werdz, im feeling BB too. i just came into some money, so its gonna be gnar gnar...

american best value and suites here i come!

hmm i sure hope they gave the smaller takeoff to the last jump in the jump line some more kick... i hit that saturday morning (the day that park first opened) with normal speed. when i was in the air i knew i was gonna come up short. i landed somewhere on the deck on both feet... but according to my buddy, the impact was so bad that i bounced back up in the air really badly and the next time i hit the ground was a ways down the landing

broke my clavicle in 2 places, out for 3 months... awesome (im really bummin about this)

^ oh and it wasn't just me... about 5 mins after i went into the patrol hut, another kid came in with his face all banged up. as he described what happened, i was like damn - same thing as me. luckily he didn't break anything though.

Nips said the first jump is the best he has ever hit. Jumps are personal so don't hold him/me to it. The Big Jump, the last one is not to be guinea'd, it is a serious jump, right now the sweet spot is short, the landing is steep though.

I am going to say, do not hit it unless you have tons of experience at that size. It is an experts jump. Only a few skiers were throwing down on it, based on what I was told. Ride with a buddy doing a follow in. I know.. bla bla bla.... :o)

I have no idea of what this might be off to the left.. might not be anything.

There are a couple of comps this weekend. Nips said he doesn't want to do them - He wants to ride at Boulder, so yeah, looks like we will be there.

I got this report tonight and feel compelled to post it.

"it could be a little bigger, but hey, you can take it pretty deep so its all good. thats the first time i ever hit a jump like that and i got to say, it was pretty orgasmic haha. crazy good style of jump.

but yea freedom was getting boring and they definitely made it less boring this time. i just think they took it over board. took one run through it and gave up. its like tryin to ski through a rock concert."

Another report on the rebuild of the small park (freedom) I didn't write this.

The first and last feature where original, all though I don't know what the hell you would do with the last. The 3 jumps are good but are small and randomly sized. One is like a foot, one is about 5 foot, and one is like 15. They should have made them all about the same it is hard to get a rythmn. The upslope box is ok but sticky. Didn't hit the rainbow I was using the jump. Battleship box was nice as always, a random barrel bonk and then a bunch of flat rails. If you are going top to bottom it is good but if people start hiking it, it might be a shit show. It isn't as tight together as it looks, I dunno if you can ride well it shouldn't be an issue at all. If you are one of those people who can barely ride and are good at jibs, then maybe it will be hard but in general if you can ride they aren't too close together at all.

This is going to be wrong I didn't look much to the right hand side and I only did 4 runs through

-Channel gap quarterpipe with a pipe across the top. Think of the two wedges they had last year but with a pipe across the top and made out of snow.

-3 choice flat box/flat rail/barrel bonk setup

-3 choice small jump, down box, down rail

-3 choice small jump, battleship box, rainbow rail

-2 choice 15 ft jump, upslope box

-2 choice butter box, flat-down rail

-Up box gap down box setup, although the gap is filled with snow so you could ride across. The boxes are like 3 feet wide, it is really weird, I want to see what other people do with it. I just straight aired it and then rock to fakie on the first box, I'm not sure if you can spin it with plastic, when I do my spins I put my toeside edge down, I dunno.

I feel like the bottom need a quarter pipe, there is a lot of empty space.

I was up at Boulder yesterday and it was the sickest thing I have ever seen, the set up on Freedom and boulder was off the hook!!!! That girl who busted herself up off that first jump on boulder must not have know what she was getting herself into. Personally, that is the best jump I think I have ever hit in my life... but that 2nd and 3rd jump were still making me crap my pants!

I went to boulder last night. The only difference on Plaza was a replacement of the rainbow rail with a long flat rail.

The new Freedom was good. The thing at the end was useless, but other than that it was interesting. The wooden wallride was fun, and the down rail was interesting too. The A-frame was nice, and like said above, the up box was a bit sticky. The jumps on the left aside from the first were pointless.

A certain PC kid from cental PA was there yesterday and was amazed at what Boulder had, a group from Ohio is driving 6 hours on regular basis. Copper just announced what was in thier park on Catalyst (US Open run) felt compelled to move it to Regionals well because ..... Sorry for all the claimage, but if you want some serious park features.... uh yeah!

I was up at boulder this weekend....way sick

didn't sesh the 2 bigger jumps at all because the weather wasn't workin on the good side and there was a lot of flat light and it was my first time jumping this year but we seshed the first jump for awhile and it was soo dope.....a lot better than last year because you can take the jumps deeper and it feels smooth cuz the landings are a lot steeper this year...sunday it rained allll day but the thing i was most stoked on is that i still saw...in the pouring rain...guys on park crew going around making sure everything was setup perfect...in which it was, i would say love could use a lot more rails and boxes and the jumps could use steeper landings but besides that i had a blast in boulder and freedom

i actually had fun with the small jumps on freedom. no need to huck yourself to clear anything and quite floaty. so young flanigan bigger doesnt always mean better. those jumps were perfect just to dick around on. shit was fun inspite of the rain.

oh and papasteeze i wouldnt trust anyone from park city, to much morman influance you know.
