Big Boulder Park Team Video 07/08 "Here To Stay"

BB is fucking sick, it does have its drawbacks though.
+ PA, Sick Features, Awesome Jump Line, Cheap Passes ($349 for a College Pass, cheaper than everywhere else here), Nice Vibe, Cool People
- SHORT ASS RUNS. Jump Line is usually only three hits long. Also the jib park and the jumps are separated on opposite sides of the mountain, so you can only session jumps or jibs for the most part, although last year they had some jibs set up after the jumps.
SLOW ASS LIFTS. Need I say more, for such a short run the lift is so slow. And they drip black shit on you.
NOOBCENTRAL. PA tends to attract noobs more than a family fun center. Be prepared for high speed collisions when sessioning the jump line. Sometimes it gets so bad someone needs to call drops from the landing.
WACK ASSHOLES. As much as there are really cool people that session BB on the frequent (and even not so frequent), there are some tools as well.
Some of the drawbacks are unavoidable though, every place has its flaws
 
Definitely true, BB's jump line last year was up so early and it was amazing. The second hit was perfect and the third hit was pretty huge for PA's standards...
 
45? 60?

Just about every jump I've hit out of a PA resort over 30 feet wasn't built properly, either the landing wasn't steep enough or the takeoff didn't have enough pop (or sometimes too much pop). PA cutters tend to build jumps unproportionally (ehemmm blue). The third hit Boulder had last year was pretty big compared to most other jumps I've ever seen built in PA and it was really fun to ski, along with all the other jumps, the in run was spaced pretty decently, the lips had good pop, and the landings weren't too sketchy either.
 
Definitely true, I only said 60 because Blue had a 60 two seasons back and I think sno had some big ones too, 40 is usually the biggest they go though
 
boulders planning on opening the last weekend of october or the first weekend of november.

nothing is forsure yet tho, all i know is BB is gona be pimp.
 
If it drops below lets say 25 degrees tonight big boulder will open tommorrow, but will that happen most likely no. My point is that Big Boulder will open as soon as they possibly can. They estimate they will open the 1st.

Big Boulder is by far the most legit mountain on the East, they may not be the biggest or the best but their attitude is so great and all they care about is making their season pass riders and park riders happy.

i asked off for the weekend of november 1st and the 8th so i really really hope they're opennnn then.
 
damnnn well roundtop rail jam november 1st and a turbo premiere... so i'll def hit that up and then big boulder hopefully the 8th. sounds good.... for a november in pennsylvania!
 
yesss, BB is legit. It was kinda a hike from my house, but the jumpline was wayyy worth it.

i'll definitely be tryin to stop by over break!
 
thats a sick video, i've heard good things about bb, i ride 7 springs, where is big boulder at in pa ? i might have to make a trip out this year .

Mapquest Lake Harmony PA.

Hook with some of the other park skiers at 7S - there are half dozen or so that make the trip regularly pre and post season. Well at least they did last year..... There is also a group from Ohio that make the trip regularly too.

Also check Open Cults and find BigBoulderPARK cult and invite yourself in!

 
i really liked the editing and the skiing the in the edit. I kinda thought that the landgins on the jumps at boulder are a bit sketchy tho, like there kinda shosrt and flat. i could be wrong tho its just looked like that
 
I hope Boulder opens before the 6th, 4 day weekend = 4 days of skiing, all I have to say. the booters are sick, they are def big for PA.
