Big Boulder is opening.

With colder temps on the way, Boulder intends to blow and open Freedom park as soon as they can, keep you fingers crossed for next weekend.
 
yap this year im probably gonna hit like 15 different mountains all over the planet, im anxious to get on the train from DC or richmond and go check out the upper east coast one weekend just for the hell of it cause it's a pretty cheap trip...im gonna wait until spring semester though just cause i want to get the most out of it when the mountains are 100% open
 
Cross your fingers and Freedom Park will be open this Saturday. The boys at BB set an assload of guns all over Freedom today. If it gets cold enough this week they will unleash a serious blizzard on that one run. I wish I could be there to see it go down.
 
forecast is for mid twenties tonight, I have seen boulder turn on the guns at 32 dgrees and dropping and watched mist turn to snow. they are on it! it's gotta stay cold and its looking marginal :(

can you say packed park at bb!!! i cant believe it im really hoping they pull it off..then ill be there at 7am waiting to ride haha
 
The wait is over. 10am to 10pm Saturday the 10th - Big Boulder Park Opens!!!!!!!!!!!!!

First on the east Coast. right?
 


Reminder everyone.. The opening is weather permitting, it looks like rain is on the way.

Temps were 20.2 at Boulder last night, so it appears that everyone who turned on the AC and opened thier freezer doors helped. Keep thinking cold, tonight looks good and maybe if we all think snow.... that the impending forecast.... will be an all snow event!!!! Boulders topography is certainly conducive to a little geographic micro climate.

No you don't!! hahahaha No worries, they probably won't know exactly until Saturday morning.

Honestly though, It will be sick. Expect lots of jibs. usually, they set two or three side by side then a double choice small jump, then another group of jibs, (usually rails) and the the last set of wide boxes at the bottom.

No harm in posting your favorites in the Boulder cult. I'll start a new thread.
 
ok i NEED your help.

I'm at penn state and wanting to hit up BB this weekend, but alllll of my gear is at home in Pittsburgh. Is there anybody that has extra 27.5 boots and ANY size ski that i could borrow? I dont care what they are, i will ride on 215 cm downhill skis if i have to.

if anybody has an old set up that i could borrow for the day saturday, i would absolutely love you. please pm me!!!
 
yaaa i'll be there papa....leavin somewhere around teh 2 - 4 am time from akron ohio haha

haha i can't wait to ride with heff and ryan in the car for 7 hours in the car o my.  but i am so pumped to ski thanks for the update pappasteeze.

this is like a ns party! its going to be fun..im going out to buy a camera today for footy..not looking at a great one but something to get the job done..

when paul shiftbauer called me up seein if my dad and I wanted to go down I was so pissed that I couldnt make it, good job bb on makin an early opening
