Big Bear

its hot, the whole mountain is like one giant dope park, a bunch of snowboarders, its a pretty nice place.

all i know is that the "sunday in the park" videos on twsnow.com are always so dope and the park always looks like a lot of fun.

I just moved down to So cal. so i will be shredding big bear, kinda sucks though, i heard they don't get any pow....EVER

The city is one big cesspool of meth users and white supremacists. I lived there for two years.... and loved every second of it. Aside from the less than stellar population, the vibe from the "cool" people is amazing. Oh yeah, and the police up there are corrupt. Oh snap!

hahaha That would be there reason for having snowmaking available to the WHOLE mountain! People there like to claim it gets a lot of snow because of that avalanche that happened at Mountain High a year or two ago, but that was ONE storm, they don't get too many good ones. It's So-Cal, what can you expect? Better than Fresno though!

Sup man,

I actually LIVE there for 3 days a week for winter, and its a sick place. Very SoCal feeling, and no pow. They have a great park run, and the entire crowd that goes there is pretty awesome. I'd definitely reccomend you skip Saturdays, as its a mad show there. I'll be there on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays with friends, hit me up if you need someone to ride with for sure.\

And yeah, no pow. It barely ever dumps, its SoCal. They do a great job of making snow though, but all in all, the snow is nothing like Aspen or Utah.

will be up there tomorrow just for shits and giggles. wearing orange chronics, hit me up if you wanna.

yeah no pow but still a super fun mountain if you love park. I'll be up there all Christmas break. Rocking last year's anthems with the wolves if you want to hit me up. Its a ton of fun try and figure out who the locals are, they are great skiiers and really nice people.

an acquaintance of mine died in that avi. A tragedy for sure, but one that could have been avoided by a skier with BC experience, rather than LA locals. but then again, who would expect an avalanche at mt high? i still feel like they should have noticed their slough was sketchy or what not. Apparently they got to one of the guys before he suffocated but he died in the hospital. RIP

Your one season pass is good for both resorts so thats a big plus. The weather is really nice and everyone is high on something.

In the summer you can go mountain biking too but they don't let you hit the ski runs anymore because it was trashing them for winter. You can still use the lift and ride outside of the skiing area though.

Also if your under 21 its one of the only places i've been in So Cal where i've literally never been asked for ID when ordering a drink. I'm 19.

Theres a dope italian place called Dongio's and a place called The Evergreen with really good duck. Theres a pizza place with the deepest dish pizza I've ever seen, and I've been to Italy and I work in a pizza place. Theres even a little theme park with a weird concrete slide thing.

A couple of my buddies moved out there and they said it was basically awesome, and they only paid like $800 rent a month on a small house.
