Big bear snowboarders vs skiers

Hey
I heard that in big bear, theres a big rivalry between skiers and snowboarders, and that theres a vast majority of snowboarders occupying the park.
How is it really?
 
All snowboarders with about 15 regular skiers. We are definitely frowned upon.
 
first of all, big bear snowboarders are the hardest and most badass of them all. MFM sprayed his nut all over so cal vag roughly 16 years ago, and as a result there are a bunch of bastard child MFMs all over the hill. Common behavior includes snaking your drop, sitting in the landings of jumplines, and hitting jibs about half as fast as you need to go. Common defense to these creatures involves fists and poles, with the frequent verbal abuse needed at often times. and since MFM rides high now, all of his bastard children are flocking back to his testicles, and exhibit overly aggressive behavior.
 
Bottom line is although MFM's bastard children can outsag your pants any day of the week, in general bear locals are more concerned with scoring meth than actually being good at snowboarding.

I find that if you pod out and land your tricks nobody messes with you.
 
We (skiers) are in short supply up there....but most of the boarders are more concerned with how they dress or getting high on the side of the run then actually slaying the mountain. Even though there are not that many of us, most of the skiers I see are throwing down. As far as any bad blood between the two, I haven't seen any.
 
That whole snowboard v. ski hate still hasnt worn off down there?

people need to grow up... it's not 1997 anymore.
 
I hate those MFM riders they come up to mh sometimes and think they can do whatever they want until mike G throws down and shuts em up
 
The hate has worn off, except for the beginners who think they are badass for doing a "50-50"/riding across plastic.

Somehow these heads were so busy being rebel badasses they didn't realize snowboarding got as trendy as abercrombie in the late 90s/early 00s.

Bear proudly reps "99% man-made snow!" But if you need a park fix in SoCal i guess it's the place to go. Seems like the Stratton of the West to me.
 
^^Bear is ALOT better then stratton, only areas good on the east are wv, loon sunday, mount snow and mtn creek
 
Like I said in another Bear thread. Fuck Bear. They're Sierra Summit's sister resort and while they have a fairly nice park, we get stuck with a shitty park and little money. Fuck Snow Summit Ski Corp.

and most of the skiers at bear with the exception of maybe 6 or so actually know what they are doing. they just ride around and try to look thug.
