So I just moved down to socal ...gunna be shredding bear, I was just wondering does any one know when its gunna open? or when it usually opens?
and is it worth it to get a dual season pass?

i live in los angeles, and although i broke down and got a mammoth season pass this year, i ski big bear a lot.
its massively snowboarder-dominated, which is in keeping with socals surf and skate scene.
lots of rails
lots of sun and cold nights = rock hard snow at 9 am, then good from 10a-noon, then after 12:00PM its slushfest. this is true for most of the season.
for a couple weeks in february / maybe early march u might get fresh stuff. In this case ride baldy for a day or two.

i take it by 'dual pass' u mean snow summit too? If so, NO dont get both, big bear is where ull want to stay to avoid the gaper crowd.

the dual pass isn't worth it because you can still ride summit at night with the bear only pass. And bear will open whenever the weather drops out there. It is always open by Christmas though.
