Holy Shit!! This was so much fun! If you guys get the chance to get out there go for it. It's pretty sick sessioning a jump when you can try rodeos, mistys, corks for the first time with almosst no risk.

Who else was out there this weekend? I was there Saturday in all gray, north face hoodie. Every Mountain needs to get one of these.

Is this open every day?

I live really close to gunstock...can't wait to try some stuff out on this.

yeah, i haven't been to Gunstock in like 10 yrs. Glad i went, was just pure coincidence it was opening w/e for the bag.

Seriously, how did Gunstock get one of these before Mount Snow, Killy, or Loon? I know Waterville has 1, but it's for the acedemy i think. Legs hurt from sessioning it all day long

YOU MY FRIEND ARE A LEAKER

I CANNOT BELIEVE YOU LEAKED THIS TO THE PUBLIC LOL

YOUR SUPPOSED TO KEEP SACRED THINGS LOW, ITS LIKE GIVING AWAY A TREASURE MAP

im a local at gunstock. apparently its only going to be open friday night thru sunday and on vacation weeks

Doubles are possible when they're really hucked but it's perfect for smooth singles. And to people who think Gunstock sucks, they clearly have not been there in a while, because they're park the past 2-3 years has gotten 10 times better.

just got home. im the one one with the first drop. learned superman fronts, fronts, backs, 7, cork 5 , lincon loop. so much fun! first time every throwing inverts and i was stomping it on the bag

The point is to help you get comfortable in the air and learn how to set the rotation so you can try it off a normal jump.

Well I know it isn't nearly as good as Loon or Waterville but if you went around 4 years ago and then went now it has definitely improved a ton.. I don't mind the park though the rails could be improved a bit

I will give you that, and they are steppin it up with this big air jump, but they need to learn that once you build a park it needs to stay maintained

aghhhh! i wanna go so bad. im a decent trip away from this thing but im thinking it would be worth the trip....and gas $ haha

That would be landing a trick.
Learning it is getting the balls to try and getting close enough imo

Huck's thoughts on this, for what it's worth.

1) Stoked that they're letting the GP session air bags.

2) Setting the air bag up so that it is flat is dumb as fuck. The air bag should be laid down on a landing hill so it is sloped down at approximately 35 degrees. This way, if you go in head first you will have a better chance of glancing off. Going into an air bag head first can still snap your neck; just ask stunt guys. When these things were first intro'd they were laying them down on landing hills. Now they are being set up flat and I think that is a huge mistake. All it will take is one person getting paralyzed from landing head first into one and the insurance companies will raise rates to the point where no one will be able to afford to set one up. That would suck.

tell me about it.... i dont want hundreds of kids waiting in line while i try to get my flips down

If i had to guess I'd say the jump is about 35-40 ft to the middle of the bag. If you B-line it to the jump, you land about 3/4 into it, which is i don't know 50ft? Yeah, that's enough to mess you up if you landed just right. If it was any bigger, i would definately say put it on an incline.

And to the people saying "keep it quiet we don't want to get mobbed with people" ...The sooner mountains realize how much of a demand there is for something like this, the quicker all your local resorts will be to invest in one, which will quickly escalate into who has the biggest and baddest.

The bag was legit. Although not completely realistic the jump isn't that poppy and is just big enough for doubles.Anyone who wants to hit it... its worth it

We're glad people are stoked with the Big Air Bag. First weekend open was a huge success. It was sick to see we had kids throwing doubles as well as little shredders learning to hit a bigger jump. It was totally awesome to see kids hitting it, everyone was having fun and helping eachother out with tricks regardless of skill level. It saw some serious action. Come check it out again this weekend, Friday through Sunday.

they had one of them in tignes, france last year for public it as real fun, cept for the gaper snowboarders going of it at like 1mph

Yeah there's like a million of them at gunstock. I'd say 50% of them hit their head on the jump while trying backflips, not even kidding.

lol. to be completely honest loons park can get real gay. You can lap gunstock so easy and you dont have to wait in long ass lines like you do at loon. Plus, like joe said, there park is a lot better with better features to learn shit on than loons 5,000,000 foot jumps.
