Best year for WRX's?

Ive been looking at cars, and even though its out of my price range WRXs make my pants tighter. Are there certain years that had problems or ran exceptionally well or has that line just always been pretty solid?

my favorite wrx is the bug eye wagon. it had only like 10 less hp than the sedan and the handling was only a bit worse (Jponce told me that). the newer ones make me want to barf.

Id say 06-09 or when ever they switched to the new body style. I like the look better and im pretty sure thats when they started putting in hydraulic clutches which dont feel nearly as nice to me. Dont quote me on this but thats my two cents

Well 2006 they put the 2.5L into the WRX when before they were all 2.0L's so the 06 and up have a little more pickup stock. 05 and up Impreza's have a redesigned interior as well with options for climate control. I have a bugeye yet I like the looks of hawkeyes (06-07) more.

you can usually find genuine ones with super low miles on the internet for $20k-$30k. 22b body kits are damn expensive too, like $1280+ shipping from UK

02-03 cheapest wrx's you can find. people say they have a weaker tranny, I drove mine to 195k with no issues before someone ran into me. If you want the heart and soul of a wrx, cheap awd turbo get one of these.

personal fav: 2004 STi, because the center diff can go into rear wheel drive with a few clicks of the parking brake.

2006 and 2007 wrxs. get the 2.5l engine, which is a pretty big deal and probably the most notable improvement over the first 6 years of wrx.

FriedRice and I never had this conversation.

The sedan and the wagon are on the same chassis, and the wagon only weights like 180 lbs more. So I'd say the handling is almost matched. I agree that the bugeye wagons are the best.
