Best Website for Ski Gear

I know a lot of people suggest EVO, but I am from Canada... Tried to make an order and shipping was 75$. Any good suggestions for sites to buy my gear from that might have discounts and are Canadian (or at least don't have crazy shipping costs)?

probably Corbett’s OP they are Canadian but do the free ship to both sides

glancing at their site right now the prices don't seem amazing but i was probably seeing all the new gear and it's the fall

ive seen some FIRE deals there though and the employee i've dealt with at Corbett's on here was a total boss-- knowledgeable, helpful, friendly dude. makes me want to check there first next time i'm in the market for something

also OP idk about their shipping rates to canada but level 9 sports is definitely a good place to look too

Not sure how recently you put together your order, but if you're looking for smaller or non-hardgoods gear, last week we just launched a new international economy shipping option that's much cheaper & works for packages under 10lbs.

What did they do exactly?

You can read up on it herehttps://www.newschoolers.com/forum/thread/873938/Backcountry-com-scum-of-the-earth-

But essentially they sued any company/business using the word "backcountry" in their name or branding including tons of mom & pop ski shops, avalanche safety groups, and other small businesses that really got fucked over by it. They ended up dropping the suits, but only after they'd got tons of backlash/poor PR from the community.

Not the craziest/worst thing ever but IMO just shows how they're more of a corporate mega-company than a group interested in promoting the outdoors. Because of this, I've just chosen to spend my money elsewhere.

My package is under 10 pounds and there is no economy shipping option... I tried to order again today

Edit - it looks like there was an issue with our rollout of this feature, but it should be back up and running by the end of the week!

Edit 2 - Looks like we jumped the gun a little bit on sharing this one, and there are still some ongoing issues that we need to address before rolling it back out. Apologies! We'll try to remember to check back in here when it's live.

NS, TGR, sideline swap, Craigslist are what I use for “new” gear. Used gear is better for your wallet and the environment and plus if you know what to look for you can easily find gear with lots of life left for the low.

If you really can't/don't want to take the time to find solid used gear then I'd say your local shop... if you have the money or are even near one.

Don't forget.. if your local shop doesn't have what you want you can order it through them and that still helps them out too.

I like Powder 7. I think shipping to Canada is $50. They have a ? black Friday sale.

i got an older pair of armada carmel mitts from them for 20$ and shipping was free for the US, (not that that helps) but they’re cool

unfortunately my city doesn't have any ski shops, and I am also a broke uni student:( I try to support the local shops at my mountain when I can though

That's fair! Hope you find what you're looking for!

Difficult part is that nobody in my city is selling ski gear because my city is nowhere near a resort... and with covid I worry about traveling to buy used gear. I guess I could ask to get it mailed if thats a thing people do?

Uhhhh, yeah dude people will mail you gear no problem...

like I live in MN but mostly bought gear from NS or sideline swap for the past couple years and if you’re willing to cover shipping 95% of the time they’ll mail it to you

Local shop, and if you don’t have one then I submit another vote for Dstructure. They go above and beyond for our community.

Hey, so I know this might not be the best place to ask further about this, but I called your help line and they said they didn't know about any rollout issue and that if economy shipping isn't there that it just wouldn't be an option for me... Do you know who I could contact that might be able to help me?

yeah, generally people selling ski stuff online will be willing to ship it (and likely charge you for the shipping). it's not rare to see "local sale only" posts but i'd say it's more the exception than the rule

what are you talking about specifically, skis, bindings...?

Word and jackets goggles etc aren't nearly as expensive/as much of a pain in the ass to send as skis are so that shouldn't be a worry
