Best way to wash jacket

Cold water wash, with cold water detergent. Hang to dry.

There should also be instructions inside the coat.

There are companies that sell tech wash for washing otuerwear. We sell it at the shop I work at, go to a local shop and see if they have it.

The best thing to do is to use Nikwax Tech wash. It is a gentle detergent that washes the fabric and replenishes the DWR at the same time. It is really good stuff. I use it on my outerwear at least once a season even if it isn't dirty.

Do you just put that NIkWash in the laundry machine where you would normally put detergent??? Should i use that with a cold wash then hang dry or whats the process with the nikwash

i get my gear drycleaned... most places also offer a rewaterproofing service , ive never had to re waterproof my gear and i get it done after every season

works for me

Hey

From what i've read you don't want to put a jacket in the wash with any type of soap with DWR replenishing properties as to not waterproof the liner??

Is the spray on stuff not really designed for seasonal use and more of a on the spot type thing?

Just got a Orage jacket and it needs a good clean. Looking into it and found this thread.

I'll be popping down my shop to get whatever soap shit they recommend.

I use the NikWash to clean & on my Mountain Hardware jacket & use the spray on ReviveX.

I use the ReviveX since that is what Mountain Hardware recommends.

So I would call & see what the manufacturer says. Or you can look on lables & match them.

The spray on's are heat activated. Spray on, then put in the dryer on med. Good to go afterwards.
